DeLonghi F26200
by emmad5689 Our old deep fat fryer was starting to leak oil and when a few weeks ago my husband got it out of the cupboard he decided it was leaking too much oil and we needed a new one. He bought this product from Curry's for £35 which seemed like good value to me until I found the same one on Amazon for £29.99 and considering I had Amazon credit I ... am now not so impressed it just shows it pays to shop around. The deep fat fryer came packaged in a white cardboard box which was sealed with tape so you would know if it had been previously opened, on the box there is a little bit of information in 6 different languages, Circular basket, food capacity of 1kg, oil capacity of 2.3 litres and permanent metal anti-odour filter, Adjustable temperature control and ready to cook indicator light, Removable dishwasher safe lid, cooler touch walls - the outside remains cooler than the metals body fryers The deep fat fryer is white in colour and cylindrical in shape, I would have prefered a coloured one but it wasn't worth paying an extra £20 for when it gets put away in a cupboard. The product has a slider at the bottom of it which can be set from 150 degrees to 190 degrees depending on what you are cooking, there is a picture guide on the side for the temperatures which shows the following, Chips - 15 minutes at 190 degrees Chicken drumsticks - 8 minutes at 180 degrees Vegetables - 7 minutes at 170 degrees - i'm not sure why you would cook vegetables in a deep fat fryer Fish - 8 minutes at 160 degrees Mushrooms - 7 minutes at 150 degrees This product is very simple to use simply plug it in at the wall and slide the slider to the required temperature to heat up, the slider piece will light up when the fryer is ready to be used. The meatl basket inside can be lifted and will sit on the side of the fryer so that it is out of the oil whilst you load in your food so that you don't get any splash back from the hot oil. Now simply wait for your food to cook, to release the lid once your food is ready there is a push button which states open underneath it. The basket has a plastic arm which you lift from the front of the fryer to pull up the basket and check your food. I have only used this fryer to cook chips but have found it to be great, the first time it was used the chips were too crispy and I was thinking that I wouldn't like chips cooked in it (might have stopped me eating them!) I think that the initial problem was actually due to using new oil and now the chips cooked in the fryer are lovely, I find it much better to put the fryer on about 170 degrees and then turn it up to 190 degrees when they are nearly cooked giving lovely fluffy chips with a crispy outside. This fryer is easy to use and I like that it is cool to the touch even when it is at it's hottest inside as with two young children in the house I do worry about accidents with appliances like this. The chips that come out of the fryer are lovely and tasty and the basket can be sat on the edge of the fryer whilst the excess oil drains off. The fryer has been used a few times now and it wipes clean easily after each use and hasn't had any oil splashes to make it greasy to the touch like my last one did. I would recommend thias fryer just would have preferred to pay the lowest price! Read the complete review |

Argos Value Deep Fat Fryer
by popmusicfan I purchased this product around a year ago now when I moved into my own place. The product is white in colour and it doesn't look out of place in the kitchen. There are a few good things about this product. It's cheap at under £20 and the length of the cord is decent. I can plug this in and I don't have to feel restricted with ... the length of the cord. The look of the fryer is sleek and elegant yet basic. You have a small "window" on the top of the fryer where you can view what's cooking. I like the addition of the window but when the fryer is turned on the window soon steams up so then you can't view the food! The temperature controls are easy to work and there's an LED light that lets you know when the oil has reached it's desired temperature. This takes just over five minutes, which isn't too long when you're hungry! It's easy to use - just pour the oil into the basin, add your food to the basket and wait for it to cook! The basket is rather small so I can't fit a lot of food in there. I can fit a few chips and some chicken nuggets in there but there's not really much room so I have to "squeeze" them in! Sometimes this results in squashed chips... However the food ends up being cooked to perfection and it tastes much better compared to oven cooked food. It's not the most healthy of ways to cook food so this comes out around twice a week - certainly not everyday! A decent product for the price. Read the complete review |

CookWorks Signature Compact Fryer
by sammy00 We picked the Cookworks Signature Compact Deep Fat fryer as we wanted to start cooking our own chips but wanted something small and easy to use. We saw the Cookworks Compact on offer in Argos at the time for just £15.99 so decided to get that one. The Fryer The Cookworks Compact is very small at just 17 x 15 x 15 ... cm and a food capacity of 0.4kg. So it wouldn't be any good for a family's needs, but for just me and my boyfriend it is just enough. The temperature is controlled my a dial ranging from 130'C to 1.90'c and can hold 0.9l of oil. The fryer has a removable lid, viewing window and filter. All removable parts are dishwasher safe. As it is such a compact design it can also easily fit into your kitchen cupboards. The fryer also has a cool wall feature so the fryer is safe and non-slip feet. When we first used the fryer we were surprised at how small it actually was. If you are cooking chips then to cook the chips nicely you can only have just over a handful in the fryer at one time. We found that if we did only need a few chips each it would just hold enough. The oil heats up quickly and cooks the chips fast too. The design of the fryer is stylish and modern, if a little basic. The controls are very basic and you only have a limited range in temperature. The food goes in a little basket inside the fryer and you have a handle that slots into this. The handle is beyond basic, and is just a rod with two hooks on the end that you squeeze into the basket. I found this dangerous especially when the oil is at cooking temperature. Also the hooks do not easily slide in to the basket and I have found myself lifting out the basket with a pair of forks instead! Overall the fryer is very basic and looks nice. We have had to buy a new one as it was just not big enough for our needs. The basket and handle just did not feel safe enough to use. At the moment it is at only £12.99 in Argos and in this case you do pay for what you get! I wouldn't recommend this fryer to anyone as its safety is not up to scratch. Read the complete review |
