Argos Value Deep Fat Fryer
Advantages: cheap, works well, good sized cable
Disadvantages: viewing window is useless
During my latest pregnancy i had major cravings for home made chunky chips, i through out my old deep fat fryer a few years ago when i was on a health kick and to be honest it was so grubby and was fit for the bin. My husband tried his best to make me home made chips using a basic pan and oil but they did not turn out the same as a fryer would have made them and it was so unsafe cooking them in a pan!
That weekend we looked online and found a perfect cheap fryer, it was from argos and i clicked and reserved it and went in store to collect it shortly after. It cost around £13.00 and is from argos value range. Most of my kitchen items are stainless steel or red so being basic white was the only option did not bother me to much as i was hoping not to use it to much.
Its a value range product so i was expecting it to be very basic, it a lovely clean white colour much nicer than i was expecting. You can choose what temperature you want to cook food at for different food group like meat, veg chips e.t.c it has a viewing window to see food cooking but is not practical at all as it steams up and you cant see inside!
It is easy to use, i filled it with veg oil first upto the maximum filling line. I plugged it in and turned it on to heat the oil first before using. It has a good sized cable length which means i can use it on any my worktops in the kitchen. It also has a indicator light which lets me know when its ready to star cooking. It comes with the inner metal cooking basket, the basket and fryer is fairly small and no good for a big family but is enough for my small family.
I love cooking home made chips and onion rings in my fryer, its came in handy for making quick snacks and meals and is easy enough to clean.
good enough for what i paid and does the job well, i would recommend this to small families.
Summary: would buy again if it broke!
