... George Foreman Grills. These are what have worked best for me both taste and cooking wise: Burgers (you'd be horrified by the amount of fat that comes off) Fish (especially Tuna Steaks) Filled pita breads made in to wraps and toasted Chicken breasts Steak Not so good: Sausages (mine became a bit dry and rubbery) Anything that's still covered in a marinade or sauce (I find the sauce/marinade burns and goes crispy before the meat has fully cooked) Thinly sliced potatoes (they should work, but they didn't - don't know why)...more

Crowned Review George Foreman Grills: Less fat, less mess, more taste? (1005 words)

Just for the sake of much needed clarity, this review is specifically about the George Foreman GR20. There are as many varieties of George Foreman Grill past and present as there are victims of his right hook. We've had a few in our time, from the small to the large. They all are geared around the same principles which are to make grilling healthier, and to make him rich without having to do anything other than demonstrate how to cook a burger. The success of this grill is evidenced by the fact that he no longer has to advertise it or so it seems. This advert will be mostly glowing, on account of the fact that he might beat the crap out of me if it ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Grillicious! (874 words)

After much ranting from my friends about the amazingness of the George Foreman grills, I caved and bought one for myself...the deciding factor was that as well as healthy fat reduced meat and chicken, I could also make myself cheese toasties. How healthy. Being the skintoid student I am, I splashed out on the GR18 (or cheapo) grill for a princely £19.99. Despite being devoid of many of the features of the more expensive grills, I've found it has proved its worth time and time again. In case you live under a rock, the point of the George Foreman is to cook food in a quick and healthy way. Its basically a pair of grill plates which get boiling hot and cook ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review George Foreman Grills: Sizzle and George (1042 words)

This is the product George Foreman claims to be so good at reducing fat from food; he's signed his name to the product. I've wanted one for quite a while, but never actually convinced myself to shell out the cash for something I may use for a few days, only to have it sit at the back of the cupboard for the rest of it's life. There are various sizes and colour available, all ranging in price from about £25 - £60 I think. I've got the smallest one available. This will fit two quarter-pounder burgers on the grill, and cost me £25. The next size up shows two large chicken breasts along with a selection of vegetables on the side. This one ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Make that lard work for you... (1191 words)

George Foreman. Foreman, in case you have never heard of him, is the heavy weight boxer who stole the title from Joe Frazier in 1973 and then lost it a year later to the legendary Muhammad Ali in the “Rumble in the Jungle”. During the 90’s he beat the odds and made a small come back to regain his title for a very short time. Soon after he gained more notoriety in the US for appearing in comical adverts about food and burgers. This year we have seen his hulking frame endorsing the product we are now talking about. What George’s actual connection to the Lean Mean Fat (Reducing) Grilling Machine actually is, I’m not sure. But I do ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review George Foreman Grills: High taste - low fat!! (1485 words)

Let me set the scene for you. We are moving house, hopefully next Friday 5th July. We are moving into a three storey ex guesthouse in Llandudno and my parents will have the ground floor as a 'flat' and Dave and I will have the upper two floors. Are you all following me so far? Well, when we move in, there will be work needed to make the living accommodation as separate as possible, as we all need our space. We will need to put an en suite bathroom downstairs for mom and dad and we will need a kitchen upstairs. You can see where I'm going with this now can't you? As we want to make sure that mom and dad are OK first our kitchen will be put on hold ...  Read the complete review
