Advantages: healthy eating, easy to clean, and deliciously cooked
Disadvantages: If 6 or more in family could take a bit of time cooking for them all at the same time
I have only had this a couple of weeks and already I dont know how I could survive without it and should have bought one years ago.
I must admit I bought it because Currys was having a sale and had them at £9.99 reduced from £59.99. Believe me they were flying off the shelves.
To use it is easy. Open the grill and wipe the top and bottom grill plates with a little cooking oil or butter but not the low fat spread as for some reason this does burn the grill. Plug in the grill. You will find a control switch that I find if you put in the middle it is usually the right setting for everything. A light will then come on and you wait for this light to go off to be ready to cook.
While waiting it is worth getting the food ready with a kitchen tool and putting the supplied drip tray in place.
Once the light is on put the food on the grill. It does get hot so keep fingers out the way! Close the lid and away you go.
You can cook almost anything. Sausages take about 6 minutes, steak 7 minutes, kebabs and chicken about 7 - 9 minutes.
It is not only meat, fish and chicken you can do. You can also do fruit, seafood and vegetables.
I would like to explain how the food tastes different and so much nicer done this way but I cannot find the words. Even the texture is better.
You will be surprised at the juice that comes out into the drip tray.
As for washing the machine, this is so simple. Wait for it to cool down a bit and then just wipe with a damp cloth. You can buy special clothes to do the job but I have found they are no different than the cloth. If you get any stubborn stains you just have to moisten a paper towel with a little cooking oil and that gets that sorted out.
It is a healthy way of eating, no fuss cooking and the food is cooked beautifully so you cant ask for more.
Summary: Brilliant machine for cooking food that looks good and tastes even better

- 07/08/07 I have got a mini grill and you are quite right when you talk about the amount of
fat/liquid that collects in the tray underneath. Like you, I am very glad I got
mine. |

- 30/04/06 King prawns done on the George Foreman are fabulous, and the best thing is you can drizzle sauce on the while they're cooking.
Ooooh , I'm dribbling now! |

- 30/04/06 If only we could invent something that removes most of the fat from food but is still as filling and tasty as the orginal product. This will have to do for the moment :)
Every time I see George Foreman doing the adverts for these, it's amusing to think he started as a boxer :) |
