Advantages: easy to use, healthy, tasty!

Disadvantages: none

I'm writing a review for the PINK George Foreman Grill!! People may soon see a theme develop with my pink reviews lol.... My poor Fiance!

We bought this from Sainsburys just before we moved into our apartment in November last year, they had in stock the pink or black version and of course we got the pink to match our kettle and kitchen accesories lol.

The Grills Model number is GR12-13737 and it should cost £39.99 but was half price and cost us a great price of £19.99!

What you get
~~~~~~~~~~~~
* The Grill itself.
* 2 drip trays for collecting the oils and fats, these are black (was disappointed about the lack of pinkness!)
* 2 black plastic spatulas that won't scratch the grill like metal will.
* An instruction booklet which also includes recipe ideas and cooking times for most common food items.
The Grill
~~~~~~~~~~
* The outside of the grill is baby pink, a gorgeous colour in my opinion!

* The inside of the grill has 2 grill plates, one in the lid and one on the base so the food is grilled from both sides.

* The grill plates are non stick so really easy to clean too.

* This George Foreman grill is classed as medium which means it will fit 2-3 chicken breasts or burgers.
We have managed 4 burgers, some onions and some mushrooms all at the same time so its plenty big enough for two people!

* The idea of the grill is for excess fats to drain off as the grill plates are angled so the fats and oils run off into the drip tray. This makes your food a lot healther and the first time you use it you will be shocked at the amount of fat that comes out of burgers and sausages!

How To Use
~~~~~~~~~~~
The grill couldn't be easier to use!
* Position the drip tray before you start!
* Wipe the grill plates with a tiny bit (you really don't need a lot!) of cooking oil, do not use low fat spreads/butter as these may burn!
* Turn the grill on at the plug, a light will appear on the lid and when this goes out you are ready to put your food in!
Its really quick to warm up and only takes about 2 minutes.
* You don't need to turn the food over as you would under a normal grill as the plates grill from both sides once the lid is closed.
* Cook your food for the time suggested in the instructions booklet. This George Foreman grill is also a lot quicker than a traditional grill.
* Remove your food from the grill with plastic utensils, don't use metal as this may scratch the non stick surface.
* Serve and enjoy!!
Cleaning the Grill
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* After use, turn off and leave it to cool.

* Empty the oil out of the drip tray and then the tray can be washed out, its safe to use in a dish washer too.

* DO NOT immerse the grill in water, Just wipe over the plates with a damp sponge or cloth.
If there are any stains that won't come off with just water use a little cooking oil on a cloth to remove them gently.

* The grill comes clean really easily so this is a plus point too.

Recipes and Cooking Times
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I mentioned earlier the instructions booklet includes recipe ideas and cooking times which I find really helpful.
You can cook lots of things on these grills, most people will instantly think of meat but I'm a vegetarian and find I can cook lots of stuff on it quicker and healthier than using another method.
**Vegetarian things I've cooked:
Toasted cheese sandwiches: take about 2 minutes and are gorgeous and crispy on the outside!
Corn on the cob: Taste like they've been cooked on a bbq; delicious! They take about 6 minutes.
Quorn: I've cooked quorn burgers and fillets on these and find they take half of the time they'd take in the oven and taste more flavoursome too.
Vegetables: such as mushroom, peppers and onions: Take about 5 minutes and taste so much better and healthier than frying in a pan.
Bananas: These caramelise on the outside and are great with custard! Cook in about 3 minutes. (Just don't warm the custard on the grill lol!)
**Cooking Times:
I find these really useful as obviously this grill is different from anything most people have used before so you do need a bit of guidance.
Just a few examples of how quick food cooks on these grills! There is a long list of most foods you can think of included in the booklet.
Beef Burger 200g: 8 minutes
Thick sausage: 7 minutes
Chicken breast: 5-7 minutes
Kebabs: 7 minutes
Tuna steak: 6-8 minutes
These are all just approximate cooking times and you must check meat is cooked through before eating it!
*Recipes:
These recipes include stuff like-
*Sole with tomatoes
*Grilled vegetables
*Georges burgers
*Lamp chops with rosemary
I don't find the recipes very inspiring but I suppose you could buy a proper recipe book if you wanted good recipe ideas!
This isn't bad as it is just a freebie with the grill.
My Opinions
~~~~~~~~~~~

* This grill is a really healthy way of cooking meats as everyone knows there is fat in meat and other foods but this minimises how much you are consuming.

* I love how the fat runs off so your food is not sat in it as it would in a pan.

* Great for most foods! Really handy for veg if you can't be bothered getting a pan out.

* The hinges of the grill are moveable so if you have thick food on one side and thin on the other, both will be cooked equally well. I think this is great idea!

* The grill cooks food really well and evenly, I like the grill lines it leaves as I feel these blackened bits add flavour just like when food has been barbequed!

* I am so glad I bought my George Foreman, at first I think I bought it just because it was pink lol but I couldn't imagine cooking without it now!

This grill is still available from some Sainsburys stores at this price and is also available from Argos and some online stores for around £20 - £25.

Summary: I think everyone needs George in their kitchen!

I hate the idea of anything "pink" in my kitchen(thank goodness the consumer has other options! I find the reviewer on this product to be very informative,fore I too already own a "Foreman", it really is a great way to eat healthy while preparing good quality meals in the kitchen!
