Advantages: Low fat, delicious chips

The Tefal ActiFry is a frying revolution - or so the manufacturer claims. Is it really?

For a start, it's quite small. This will happily feed 2 or 3 with decent portion sizes, but any more than that and you're going to have to do two fryings. It really could be a bit bigger.

Size aside, the ActiFry is quite good. Its real selling point is the 3% fat its chips have. All you have to do is put in a couple of table spoons of oil (you can put in sunflower oil etc to make it healthier), put the chips in and then a paddle moves the chips around to make sure they're all evenly cooked in the oil. Hot air is also circulated to aid this.

Cooking takes around 40 minutes, after which the chips are crunchy and generally very nice. They're not as good as 'proper' deep friend chips but they're nice all the less.

Cleaning is quite and easy, and literally took less than five minutes.

Overall, this is very good. It gives you healthy(ish) chips that are delicious. If only it could make a few more!
