Premium Review Tefal ActiFry: healthy chips (154 words)
by - written on 18/10/09 (Useful, 107 readings)
Rating:

The best small kitchen appliance I own- produces healthy chips, potato wedges with the smallest amount of oil. Produces a great chip style version without all the excess fat. Comes with a recipe book as well- can be used to cook other meals. Is easy to clean after use, disadvantage is that the timer is practically non- audible. Vary the cooking ...  Read the complete review

The ActiFry comes from Tefal and is used to cook chips. It has a 2.2 lb capacity, which is about the same as six medium sized potatoes, and requires only one teaspoon of oil to cook them to perfection. You simply cut your potatoes up into chips, put them into the Tefal Actifry, add a teaspoon of cooking oil and turn it on - ...  Read the complete review

I bought this product for £130 because it sounded very good and i had read good reviews of the machine. When it arrived I read through all the instructions and worked out how it worked. I like the design and look of the machine and found it really easy to use. Simply cup your chips, give them a good dry and pop them in the machine. All ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Great chips! (177 words)

Really clever item. Seems to be well made and is quite fun watching the chips go around! Not used it for other recipes yet but it seems to suggest that you can cook alsorts in it. It comes with a free sachet of special olive oil - to buy this type is very expensive and I think other olive oils would do just as good a job. The chips were nice, ...  Read the complete review

I absolutely love this machine. I binned my deep fat frier a number of years ago as they are greasy, dirty, unhealthy and make the world smell of chip fat. unfortunately oven chips taste like badly done spuds and we dont have a local chippie. I spotted the actifyer whilst looking for a new TV (still havent got one) and went home and googled it ...  Read the complete review

We always wanted to get a deep fat fryer, but my wife was concerned about how unhealthy fried chips are. When we saw this we reailsed that is was perfect compromise! We were not disappointed when we tried it out for the first time. It does exactly what it says on the tin - one small teaspoon of oil thrown into the bowl where the ...  Read the complete review

The Tefal Actifry is a neat little machine that appealed to me the first time I saw it, but at £149 I really couldn't justify it, even if I could afford it. However, I kept my eye on the price of this fabulous fryer and eventually bought it on Amazon for £89. It's a nicely shaped and sturdily constructed piece of equipment but it is a ...  Read the complete review

This is an amazing product, althought it does seem expensive it really is well worth every penny. I am a mother of two who is conscious of her weight and also concerned that her children have a healthy diet too. The Tefal actifryer allows us to have "proper" chips but with only 3% fat!! It couldn't be more simpler to use, ...  Read the complete review

We bought this product a while and although it seems quite exspensive, its well worth the money. We have never had so many healthy chips in our lives. This is great for making for healthy great tasting low fat chips. It is quite bulky but having thrown away my deep fryer, there was the perfect space to keep it. Although it is the best for chips, ...  Read the complete review

The Tefal ActiFry is a frying revolution - or so the manufacturer claims. Is it really? For a start, it's quite small. This will happily feed 2 or 3 with decent portion sizes, but any more than that and you're going to have to do two fryings. It really could be a bit bigger. Size aside, the ActiFry is quite good. Its real ...  Read the complete review

The Hype Imagine being able to fry a batch of real home-made chips with just a tablespoon of olive oil. Sounds too good to be true? Place up to a kilo of freshly cut chips into the cooking pan, then measure your preferred oil with the scoop provided, pour it over, and set the timer. Patented technology circulates hot air ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Tefal ActiFry
by - written on 28/02/08
Rating:

I bought the Tefal Actifry two months ago and I am now a happy chip eater.

I use frozen chips from the supermarket so NO FAT needs to be added.
40 minutes later and I have Great tasting chips, HOT, CRISPY, FLUFFY on the inside.

My wife has cooked chicken in breadcrumbs and said they were Yummy!

The Actifry is very easy to clean.

The Actifry is expensive but worth every penny!
