ABOUT THE PRODUCT **************** The Tefal Easy Pro Deep Fat Fryer has the heating of up to 2100W and it has an oil capacity of 3 litres. When you are frying the food it has a capacity of cooking up to 1kg. I bought mine for roughly £40 however on Amazon you can get it for £21.99 which I personally think is a bargain! The temperature indicator as well as the automatic overheating protection guards against burning or over heating, while the enamel bowl with handles and the cool zone let you easily handle the machine, even while hot. The fryer has a stainless steel body and a metallic filter to keep out the cooking smells and fumes, as well as a viewing window to keep an eye on the fries. POSITIVES ******** - First thing I must mention is that the chips and other food made in here are always delicious. (though horrendously bad for you) - I love the little peep hole so you can keep an eye on your food, it takes out the hassle of having to take the lid off every two minutes to see how it is doing. - It has a wire storage area which keeps the cable nice and tidy whilst not in use so you can leave it on your kitchen side as an accessory. - The stainless steel body means it is wipe clean, so easy to maintain and look stylish in the kitchen. - Safety cut out, it's a well known fact that fryers cause fires when they are left on and overheat so the safety cut out gives you peace of mind when using it. - Non slip feet, when opening and closing and removing food, the container doesn't move around so there is a reduced risk of spilling hot oil on you, never nice. Negatives ******** -Claims to have a metallic filter to keep out the cooking fumes however whenever I use it my house smells disgusting for at least 24 hours after no matter how many windows I leave open or air fresheners I spray. I even resort to using the extension lead to cook in the garden sometimes to avoid stinking my house out. -Recommended oil level line is hard to see, I always worry about over filling it the point where I underfill it and can't put all my food in. -The handle of the basket broke off, and as I said before I do not overfill it so that was poor manufacturing. Still, I worthy contender of fryer however this is my first one so I don't have anything to compare it to.
I appreciate that in this day and age we are all trying to be healthier and unfortunately I have found out that the harder I try the harder I fail miserably, as the more I try and not eat something the more I crave it. Unfortunately chips are one of my downfalls and occasionally they have to be eaten. I now have the philosophy of you can have anything that you want as long as you eat it in moderation and if that rule applies you just have to cook them properly, especially as going to the fish and chip shop is my favourite places, but that also mean ordering a piece of fish and there are always more chips than I want, but I still manage to eat them all as I cannot say no, due to awful willpower. This is when a friend of mine recommended that I purchase the Tefal Easy Pro Fryer and I read a little up on it and for the £39.99 price tag I thought it was worth a go, although you need to have some empty cupboard space so that you can hide it away when it is not in use as it is quite a large kitchen item. The Tefal Easy Pro Deep Fat Fryer has the heating of up to 2100W and it has an oil capacity of 3 litres. When you are frying the food it has a capacity of cooking up to 1kg. This fryer has an on/off switch and there is a power indicator light letting you know if the fryer is on or off. This is essential as you need to be aware if the fryer is on or not as you are dealing with hot fat which can be extremely dangerous. There is also a temperature control button so that you can vary the heat setting to suit what you are about to cook, once the fryer is up to temperature a light will indicate that the fryer is ready to use. If the oil is too hot you will find everything will just brown immediately not taste as nice. The fryer has a stainless steel body and lid and has black rubber handles on the sides and top of the fryer, so it fits in perfectly with your kitchen surroundings. For additional safety the handle has a high design and it is cool to touch at any time so you do not burn yourself when operating, there are rubber seals around the heating element and basket handle for extra safety to make sure that any of the oil cannot splash or spit. For the last piece of security there is also an overheating safety cut out button which will cut out the machine should any problem arise. When it comes to cleaning the fryer once it has cooled, preferably the morning after you have used it, it can be dismantled with ease so all elements can be fully cleaned apart from the temperature control and for ease the machine parts that can be cleaned can also be placed into the dishwasher to make sure that it is cleaned properly. With the fryer there is also a detailed instruction manual which tells you about each part of the fryer, how to use it and cooking tips on how best to cook you food at the right temperature. The great thing about this fryer is that the lid comes with a viewing window, so you can keep an eye on what you are cooking to make sure that it is not overcooked and ruined. I find that the fryer gets to temperature very quickly, it is ready to cook my chips in about four to five minutes. The fryer will cook all variety of chips but I have to say that my favourite are the thick cut chips and the fryer makes them taste great as well. Not only can you cook frozen fish cakes, frozen fish and chips, I also use the fryer to cook nuggets and to be healthier I also make my own fish cakes and fish fingers even fruit fritters in batter. I recommend that you make sure that you place them in if you throw them into the fat they can fall apart as the batter falls off. I usually leave the fryer out for just over a week and use it as much as possible to cook with and then pack it away in the cupboard until I can be bothered or have cravings to use it again. Overall a great cooking machine, there is only one disadvantage that I can see and that is that although you can clean the machine you have to be careful as it is still oil, which is a waterproof liquid and it can be a nightmare if spilt. When emptying the fryer make sure that you keep the empty oil bottle so that you can drain the oil and put it back into the bottle to dispose of.
