Hargreaves Lansdown Stockbrokers ... my opinion these are the best stockbrokers in the UK - bar none. The phone calls are always answered very quickly. The post I have always received has included prepaid envelopes. I have also found their website so easy to navigate. You can view the live prices of UK stock (with a slight delay) and you can manage your own portfolio online. I have nothing but praise for them. They also offer a SIPP - which is a self invested pension plan. You can cash in many pensions and use the money to administer your own pension. If you know which Unit Trust(s) you want to invest in, and do not need advice, then there isn't a broker in the country to beat them. Not only do they refund all of their initial commission to you, but they also negotiate occasional further discounts from the fund managers.
