My bedside alarm clock is the Acctim Saxon alarm clock. I have always used two alarms (just in case!) and alongside my mobile phone alarm I use this clock to wake me up in the morning. As you can see from the picture, the alarm clock has a brass-plated finish to it and is in a very traditional design with the two bells at the top. The body of the clock is constructed from high-quality metal and features a clear glass lens for clarity. During the night I find it very easy to tell the time, as each hour marker and clock hands are luminous, meaning I don't have to turn a light on to see what time it is.

I bought the Acctim alarm clock ideally as a bedside alarm clock, and during the day I also use it to tell the time. On the back of the clock there is a button for setting the time and a button for setting the alarm clock. Obviously because it isn't a digital clock it won't give the same accuracy as would be desired, but it serves its purpose reasonably well. The clock requires no batteries as it has a wind-up mechanism. The dimensions of the clock are as follows: length 12cm, width 6cm, height 17cm. The alarm clock is just the right size for me and doesn't take up oodles of space on my bedside table. The alarm sound is crisp and clear, and it certainly wakes me up in the morning! I am quite a heavy sleeper, so if it can wake me up then im sure it will suffice for most other people too.

Priced at around the £6 mark it isn't going to be a top quality product, and although the clock looks great it doesn't feel great to hold. The quality isn't top notch, but it is more than sufficient for my needs. If you are looking for an affordable alarm clock then I would recommend the Acctim Saxon alarm clock as it is well priced and reliable.
