Advantages: Great bell that works, batteries last ages
Disadvantages: Button cant get stuck
I have one of these doorbells, I didn't buy it myself, it was already adorning my hall wall when I moved in. The doorbell press in situated on the outside of the front door and the part that makes the noise is half way down my hall, around half the length of my house away from the front door. You can have the bell 30m away from the box and it should work, I dont have mine that distance away so I can't comment on whether it works as well at that distance.
This doorbell for me is great, the ding dong that it makes (it does it twice) is loud enough for me to hear in most rooms, if I am in the garden however, there is no chance and I rarely remember to take it with me, so it is left in the hall to ding dong to its heart's content. The joys of having a wireless doorbell is so you can take it with you or have it at such a distance from the front door that it can be heard everywhere. As i have said the only place I can't hear it is in the garden but I have my phone with me so I can be contacted should anyone come round and not get an answer from me.
The bell and box is white, the actual button to press is a light grey colour and quite squidgy. I don't think these are too expensive, I have seen ones in Argos for around the £5 mark and don't think that is too bad, makes me wonder whether to buy another doorbell rather than batteries when they run out as they are roughly the same price! I haven't had to change the batteries in my doorbell for a while; I have lived here 3 years and haven't changed them yet, so they last a long time.
There are only two problems with this bell I have found the first is the button can get stuck occasionally, so the bell just continually rings which can be most annoying, you only have to move the button and it is again silent. The second being if you have the bell too far away from the door, when someone rings it, if they can't hear it chime, they tend to keep pressing it as they are not sure if it is working or not. Some bells have a red light that come son when the bell rings so you know it is working even if you didn't hear it, that would be a good idea for this model too I think.
I have no other problems with this bell, it works fine, the tone is not too annoying but loud enough. Long may my batteries live.
Summary: Overall very good
