Rating:
I work as a wages clerk so one item that is a big part of my job is a calculator. I tend to be quite good at numbers so I don't need anything fancy. I was told by my company when my last one decided to die on me that I can order one that is suitable for my job, but that doesn't break the bank and they will fund the costs. I tend to do a lot of my shopping on Amazon so this is where I purchased my calculator from. A said, I only wanted something basic, but I wanted a proper desktop one with large buttons as I find smaller ones quite fiddly. I opted for the Aurora DT85V desktop model and purchased it in the large heavy duty model as this one seemed ... Read the complete review

I have been using the Aurora DT85V Electronic Calculator at work now daily for the past three years. Its one of those things that I take for granted. Its always waiting there for me in the morning and it has always worked, yet if it were to disappear it would highly disrupt my day. This calculator is a large desk calculator measuring 140cm wide by 198cm long. It has large protruding buttons that measure 1cm square for ease of use even for fat fingers! No, seriously, I have long nails and often find it difficult to use smaller, flat or rubber buttons but there are no such problems with this. I have pounded away on this calculator for years yet the numbers ... Read the complete review

I am the owner of the above mentioned desktop Aurora calculator which I use exclusively for work. I didn't choose the make and model myself as I found the calculator in our store room. To be honest I am not all that familiar with the big boys in the calculator world and I hadn't heard of Aurora before but this seemed to have all the functions required for my use which is basically the four main calculations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and in these respects it seems very adept. (Although it would be a major flaw for a calculator that struggles with its time tables!) Whilst I do give the calculator quite a hammering in terms ... Read the complete review

For those wondering why this is my 2nd calculator review, it's because we use this calculator in work. I'm not just sat here ordering calculators. For those of you who are just sat there ordering calculators, maybe this site will be useful. http://www.vintagecalculators.com/ Ahhh yes the calculator museum... Anyway, the Aurora calculator is a standard non-scientific calculator which we use for simple addition and subtraction. It can also be used to divide and multiply and has all the other memory functions of other calculators just in case you need to recall a piece of particularly important information. The buttons are laid ... Read the complete review
