Is this the best way to wake up? (Avon Sunrise Alarm)

Advantages: Very cheap compared to other similar alarms

Disadvantages: Doesnt wake some people up!

When I stumbled across the Avon Sunrise alarm in a catalogue, I was intrigued by the sight of it, and so decided to have about it. Seemed a great idea to me, as I hate nothing more than the sudden Shriek of our normal alarm clock at the crack of dawn, especially in the dark winter months. Priced at just £10 it seemed too good to be true! Before ordering the Alarm, I decided to search about on the internet to see if I could find anything similar, and came across a similar thing made by Philips, but the only obvious difference was the price of the Philips Alarm which was very close to 10 times more!! This made my mind up instantly, and I ordered the Avon Sunrise Alarm there and then. I have to be honest though, and admit that I have been disappointed with it, I only used it for about 2 months, and decided to go back to the old Alarm I used to use before trying the Avon Sunrise. The main problem I had was that the light just comes on instantly, and is very bright, I suppose it has to be like that to make sure it wakes you up, but it would have been far better in my opinion if it came on gradually, and then perhaps introduced gradual gentle noises after a short period. Another problem was that the light didn't usually even wake my partner up, and so was completely useless until the buzzing started. Nice idea, but doesn't work well

Summary: Fine as a normal alarm, but not much for the instant light!
