This product re-charges BOTH standard dry batteries AND re-chargeable batteries of all common sizes. It constantly monitors the state of charge and indicates if a battery is faulty and cannot be re-charged further. In my own home, I have many battery-operated electrical items; door chimes, clocks,bicycle lamps, personal radios, remote controls, not to mention endless battery-operated toys belonging to my grandchildren. In most of these, rechargeable batteries cannot be used as they are too low a voltage.
