      Personalise your gift

My Auntie wanted to buy my daughter something special that she could keep for her first christmas. I had always like the snowglobes on the Disney Store website so I asked her to get my daughter one. I initially chose a Mickey Mouse one but then my Auntie said she liked the Beauty and the Beast globe so we decided to get that one.

The globe is reasonably priced at £35. It can also be engraved for an extra cost and you have to pay postage and packaging so in total it cost around £45.

On Christmas day as my daughter was only 9 1/2 months I opened most of her presents. The globe was well packaged in a white box which when opened had a polystyrene insert which you open to reveal the globe. The globe itself is very heavy a lot heavier than I expected. It features Belle and the Beast to the right in a dancing pose as when in the film. The globe part is the rose as in the film. The rose is suspended in the centre of the glass and is coated in a red and green glitter. There are also petals falling off the rose and some on the floor of the glass casing. Surrounding the rose and the glass is a brown base which features Cogsworth, Lumiere, Mrs Potts and Chip gazing up at the rose. Inside the globe are hundreds of pieces of silver glitter which when you shake the globe fall slowly back down.

The best feature of this globe is the fact that it is musical. Underneath the rose is a metal key which when wound plays the feature song 'Beauty and the Beast' the music is magical and not tinny sounding like other music boxes or globes I have had in the past. It plays for a good few minutes when wound completely.

The final feature to the globe is the little gold plaque on the front which can be engraved. There are 3 choices of lettering on the Disney Store website. You are limited to 30 characters my Auntie's message read 'Happy 1st Christmas Eva 2012'.

As my daughter is so young the globe is currently on a shelf in her bedroom, the globe has little rubber feet on the bottom so it is sturdy on the shelf and it looks a lot more expensive than it is. We do occasionally get it down and I show her and we listen to the music as she likes the film but she is too young to appeciate it yet. However I am sure that it will make a lovely keepsake from her first christmas for when she is older, I have since added another two Disney globes to her collection and there are several more to collect. I would give this 5 out of 5 stars as it is a lovely gift for all age groups.

This is a great little ornament that is a great present thanks to the fact it can be personalised

Having a wife who loves Disney means that you have a flat full of soft toys and ornaments and so knowing how much she loves the film Beauty and the Beast I decided to pick up this little snowglobe for her for a birthday as it is able to be personalised but is it a beauty or is it a beast?

        Pros:
This is a very well designed snowglobe that has Beauty and the beast on the right side (as you look) with Cogsworth on the left peering around at them. The rear of the snowglobe has Mrs Potts and Lumiere (the candlestick) so all areas of this snowglobe have had loving attention to detail given to them.
The snowglobe depicts the beatiful rose with some of its petals already fallen (this is a major part of the Beauty and the Beast film) and is done in a very classy and beautiful way.
This snowglobe has a wind-up key that allows for you to play the tune "Tale as old as time" which is one of the best known and loved songs from the Beauty and the Beast movie. The tune plays beautifully and you can clearly tell which tune is being played as the pace remains exactly as it should be.
To make the snow storm start you simply shake the snowglobe so no need for batteries.
The front of the snowglobe has a gold coloured plaque which you can have engraved with the message of your choice so that this is a piece which is perfect to give for a special occassion like a birthday, christmas or anniversary and this looks very classy so that it s something the person receiving this will be delighted with.
This is a very reasonably priced snowglobe as it only costs £35 (you will then have to add delivery and engraving costs to this) which for a piece that is official Disney and something that the Disney fan will love is a great price.

        Negatives:
        None

Overall this piece has gone down very well with my wife and it has pride of place on my entertainment centre just below my tv. The snowglobe was very well received by my wife when I presented this to her for her birthday and the fact it is personalised she absolutel loves as it makes it special to her. The price of this is very reasonable when compared to other official Disney products and as it is of a good quality then I think is something to consider as the gift for those fans of Beauty and the Beast as they will simply love this and have it for years to come without it looking old and tattered as other things like soft toys could do.
