WHAT IS IT?

A wine bottle holder shaped as a Betty Boop figurine. It holds the wine bottle at an upside down angle to stop sediment forming in the bottom of the bottle.

THE DESIGN

The wine bottle holder features Betty Boop reclining backwards in a sexy pose.  There is a loop at the bottom that is cleverly incorporated into her skirt for holding most size and shaped wine bottles. To use it you just turn the bottle upside down and slide it through the loop, because it holds the bottle in an upside down position you can only use it on full or screw top bottles that are not likely to leak.  The base of Betty Boops skirt is weighted to stop it from falling over and this makes it a heavy object.

WHAT I THINK

I received this as a wedding present when my husband and I were married and we still use it very regularly now because I have loved Betty Boop since I was a child.  I am always surprised that the bottle holder does not fall over because it looks so top heavy but it doesn't even wobble when I insert or remove a wine bottle. It fits most bottles except those that are strangely shaped or those with a thicker neck than usual.

It looks super on our dining table because it is so unusual and gets people talking.  I like the way Betty Boop looks like she is leaning back on the wine bottle and think her beautiful red dress looks good against most bottle colours and designs.  This is a very feminine item to have in the home but my husband does not mind even though he usually prefers more masculine or unisex decor, I think this is because he secretly lusts after Betty Boop but I am not jealous because no woman could have her sexy proportions.

My Betty Boop wine holder is very easy to clean and all I have to do is dust her now and again plus sometimes I will wash her in soapy water to remove any dirt or dust from between the folds of her dress.
