Regular readers of my reviews may know that I am a huge fan of Betty Boop memorabilia. I own figurines, clothing, bags and other miscellaneous items. I keep these in my home and the items that I own for wearing outside of the home I rarely actually do. I like to keep my items for best and I have a large display cabinet in my home as well as a few shelves in my bedroom that allow me to store all my items with care to keep them looking good for as long as possible.

For my birthday back in April I received a figurine from my husband, as I always do, as well as perfume from my sister and this wine bottle holder from my Mum. I happen to know that my Mum picked this up second hand but it is in brand new condition and even came in the original storage box complete with polystyrene cut-out to hold the figurine in place and keep it protected at all times.

This is a Betty Boop figurine bearing the usual King Features Syndicate on the bottom that confirms it is an item that is official licensed and not some cheap fake knock off, of which they are literally thousands on the market. This is a Betty Boop figurine with a difference as it is angled as such that it can hold a wine bottle upside down which helps in particular to keep the corks moist and prevent the wine from becoming corked from a dry crumbling cork. As I love a good glass of wine this is a perfect gift for me and when I received it I was very impressed indeed.

Betty Boop, complete with her signature hair style, earrings, garter complete with heart and even the bracelets that she often sports. I love all of these little features about Betty and so this is an ideal gift for me really and I love the laid back pose that Betty is sporting too. Betty is wearing a red dress, as she often is, and this is nice and flowing. I find that Betty looks a little more masculine than normal, despite wearing a dress, which I'm sure is quite difficult to pull off. Perhaps people will see what I mean from the photograph provided but who knows. Betty is posing with her legs too so that it appears that she is leaning on the bottle of wine which looks fun and interesting. The loop within her skirt makes it easy for me to fit any bottle of wine through and this is important of course.

Kept within my Betty Boop wine holder I actually have a bottle of wine that was personalised for me by my Mum at Christmas this year and I think that I will probably just keep this forever. I used to use this wine holder probably once or twice a week for bottles of wine and I absolutely love the novelty of this. The quality of this product is just as high as my other Betty Boop figurines and unlike other novelty products I've seen it does have a high finish to it also. This shouldn't be used with open bottles because of the risk that they might leak and ruin the finish on Betty but I don't do this anyway and never have.

I would say that this figurine is a little heavier than some of the others, even without the wine bottle through the skirt, as it is weighted at the bottom to keep it from toppling over and that is very important to me as my Betty Boop figurines are displayed in a glass shelved cabinet so any accidents could be catastrophic to 3 or 4 other Betty figurines all on the same shelf, or even figurines on the shelves below if the damage was really bad.

It is fair to say that I love this figurine. I love the look of it and I love the function that it has too. I always have a bottle of wine displayed thanks to this and now thanks to my Mum I have a lovely personalised bottle displayed all year round which I think looks fantastic. I keep this clean with a light dusting now and then and a gentle wipe with a wet microfibre cloth if there are any marks on it. In all it is simple to look after and it looks great too. This blends in with my other figurines very well and best of all I know that my Mum got it for the bargain price of £5.00 when it is actually worth about £35-£50 depending on where you purchase it from.

If you are a fan of Betty Boop then I would definitely recommend this for you as it is functional and it looks great. This figurine is approximately 9 inches high, 8 inches wide and 4 inches deep. These are approximate measurements as I found it difficult to be precise because of the design of this product.
