Casio FX83-es A mathematical nessecity (Casio FX 83 ES)
Member Name: danz001
Advantages: Great user friendly ability Disadvantages: Not so great for those who prefer the traditional display This calculator features something known as a natural display. As far as my understanding of this word goes it basically describes the calculators ability to match that which is found exactly in a text book. Basically if there is a long line of addition with indicies, surds and fractions written in a text book, you are able to create that exact question (in appearance too) with the FX 83 es. If you are sitting GCSE and especially AS level mathematics this calculator is a must have. The GCSE syllabus 2 years ago required you to simply a division of surds. With this calculator however if you entered the unsimplified form in would then automatically simplify it (basically awarding you 2 marks toward a GCSE). In terms of ease of use I really do like this calculator, however I am aware of some that do not like its default display of showing fractions before decimals. Please note that this can be changed. All in all a neccesity for Mathematic students. Summary: In my opinion a great scientific calculator |
