The Casio fx-83es scientific calculator is one of the first out there to include what is known as natural display. This basically means that instead of using that annoy small backwards 'L' symbol to write fraction, you can actually type in numerator over denominator, and see it aswell.
Also the new intergrated function that allows you to find the exact value of surds is also very useful, aswell as being able to add, subtract, multiply and divide them.
As for the ergonomics, it is of a useful size to fit in bags, pencilcases etc, but the buttons and easily large enough to be used by anyone.
For anyone sitting GCSE, AS or A level mathemtics i strongly recommend this calculator as it has all the neccessary functions that will be needed for the new syllabus.
Also the main fature about calculators is battery life, ive owned this one for nearly 2 years now, and even left on overnight it still shows no sign of low battery, perfect for those worried about sitting exams.
