Advantages: Large display, viewing of the entire equation as you type it, editing of equations.

Disadvantages: None for what it is, is not a graphical calculator if you need one.

I bought this calculator in year seven to start secondary school and it managed to do everything I needed it to do right through all seven years at school including doing maths and further maths at A-level and its still going string studying maths at university.

It has lasted remarkably well for its age and all the more for the fact that it was left in the side pocket of a bag and dropped and kicked around all the time. It comes with a protective cover that slides of the front and can be put on the back to keep it safe while using it. It has done a brilliant job and the front is hardly even scratched. The back and the case are not looking new but by no means are they in bad condition.

The operation of the calculator is very intuitive and easy to use. The display has two lines allowing you to see the whole equation that you are typing in. The top line (for the equation) is 12 characters long and the main line (answer) is 10 digits and has the ability to write in standard form for larger numbers (rather than giving an error as some do).

It has an 'anti rounding error' feature in it that stops it truncating answers (eg (1/3)x3 = 1 not 0.99999999999 etc). It has the facility to save 9 numbers at any one time and to do calculations with these numbers by typing in the letter associated with the up and down arrows or scroll through and edit the current calculation with the left and right arrows.
