I saw these Cupcake Keys online and knew that I had to have them! I bought my set from www.amazon.co.uk for £5.00.

Each set contains six key caps with cute cupcake designs. I love sweet treats and these cupcake design key covers have a really fun and playful look to them. Each key cap has a different design with an amusing facial expression and neat little details like frosting and sprinkles for extra decoration. The key caps have a colourful pastel background and each one is a different shade which can help you to instantly tell the difference between the keys you carry on your keychain. Even the packaging is lovely, with the key caps arranged as though they are displayed on a cake stand.

I primarily bought these key covers because I like the way that they look, but they do also serve a purpose and can be particularly helpful if you have a set of keys where it is hard to tell them apart without some clear form of identification. The key caps fit neatly over the head of the key to cover it and the different designs and colours give a quick and easy reference point to identify which key is which. They're made of a rubbery material which is very stretchy and will fit over most keys. There is also a hole at the top to allow you to place the keys back onto a keyring. I found that the key caps do add some extra bulk onto the size of the key itself and it was really quite hard to fit the key back onto my keyring as it needed a lot of force to get it back into place. Afterwards this has not caused any further problems though. I can't say I have enough keys to require 6 covers, but that means I was able to pick and choose my favourite from the bunch and there were some leftover I could have used as spares if it weren't for the fact that one of my friends saw them and loved them so much that I let him have the rest!

The main issue I've had is that one of my keys is not a standard shape and has a square-ish top to it. Over the past two months this has caused the key cap to stretch out of shape and it has torn through, first the top of the frosting fell off, and now it has eventually come away completely leaving me with a bare key once again. I would advise only to bother with these covers if your keys have a nice rounded shape at the top, otherwise although the material will stretch to fit over it, this will wear over time and break as I have experienced.

Overall I think these are a fun little item which would make a nice treat for a home baker, and are helpful for keeping keys organised.
