My family got one of these a while ago and I didn't really understand the point as we'd been surviving with traditional squirting hand wash bottles for a long time without becoming infected with germs although I imagine that is what they said when the made the leap from a bar of soap to gel hand-wash. I also didn't understand the logic of why you shouldn't touch a dispenser because you always wash your hands right after touching it anyway, the only was you could get germs is by touching the dispenser then walking away without washing your hands, if that makes sense?
Anyway we've been using it for some time now and I actually quite like it, although it is very generous with the amount of soap it gives you which is feel is sometimes wasted. When I've got something like raw chicken juices all over my hands it's much easier than struggling trying to press a dispenser and is generally quite satisfying, I'd personally like to see them installed in public toilets to see how that went.
One negative is that sometimes there are issues with the sensor dispensing soap at random whenever it feels like it, one of these 'episodes' occurred the other day and was quite disconcerting. It's similar to my friends glade automatic air freshener thing which always manages to make me jump when I'm on my own and it goes off. In conclusion the machines are taking over and I'm slightly worried they have a mind of their own, but I'm not crazy.
