My daughter came home the other day with a gift for me. It was a Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash System and a bottle of Cucumber Splash soap to go in it. I was not that impressed at first but once I had tried it I found it really handy. She bought it on offer at Morrisons for £3 which is a real bargain, as they normally retail at around £6-£8!
The unit is made of plastic, mine is not white like in the picture but silver and looks ok on the bathroom windowsill. It is battery operated and has an on-off switch at the back so you can turn it off if it is not in use for a while. The soap slots into the top and refills are available.

To use the system you simply hold your hand under the spout and it automatically dispenses a blob of soap for you. This means that you eliminate the risk of spreading germs from your hands onto the dispenser. The soap has a lovely fresh cucumber fragrance and keeps my hands feeling soft. It also kills germs like e-coli and salmonella which is reasurring! As the owner of two dogs I spend time every day picking up poop from the garden and it is helpful to be able to wash my hands afterwards without having to touch anything. I now have one in the kitchen as well as the bathroom expressly for that purpose.

The one drawback I have found is that the sensor is extremely sensitive so if you accidentally wave your hand near the unit it will splodge soap onto the surfaces. I found this very annoying when I was trying to clean the unit until I remembered that you could switch the sensor off - duh! I just don't like seeing the soap go to waste in the sink, but other than that it is a good idea and works well.
