      Fun glass

Knowing that I am prone to the odd tipple here and there my girlfriend saw this Flashing Beer Mug in a local supermarket and brought it for me as a treat. They are available in all sorts of shops at all sorts of prices from £1-£3.99 (actually saw this at the weekend in a local pound store).

What essentially you get for your money here is a plastic beer mug, in the shape of a traditional pint glass with a handle to the side. It is made of fairly sturdy stuff and you would have expected for the price and the plastic is certainly much tougher and doesn't feel "cheap" and flimsy at all. I have no worries that this will collapse and feel confident that it will hold my pint.

The glass essentially contains 6 LED lights, very small but bright lights. During drinking, the lights illuminate your drink with a range of colours and its looks very funky. Again it doesn't look cheap at all the lights are bright and vibrant and it looks very nice indeed. Obviously some people won't see the fun in this as its very gimmicky and not very macho but it's a novelty and a fun one.

What's more fun actually is the way in which, using a clever indicator, the glass begins the flash red when you near the end. This is again a fun little tool and always makes a joke to people seeing it for the first time.

This device relies on AA batteries and one down side is that the device is heavy on battery use and this only lasted about 6 hours before having to be replaced. So depending on how much you use it you might have to replace the batteries a few times a week. It only lights up as you pick it up though so it does save battery life.

All in all this is a fun novelty product that will raise a few smiles as you raise a glass or two for whatever the occasion
