Advantages: Great Value, Good Design, Easy To Use, Good Features, Simple, Efficient
Disadvantages: -
I actually heard about this alarm clock from Dooyoo when I read a review. It sounded excellent and I needed a new alarm as mine was failing on me. For just £20.00, I didn't think it sounded bad at all - not a bad price, reliable and efficient. I got one not too long ago and it has worked to perfection since.
It comes in a little cardboard box, which easily opens to reveal the alarm clock in a packet. The alarm is grey and looks really modern. The front face has a shiny effect and the back is darker grey with a matt effect. On the back are 4 buttons, which are of good quality and work well.
You have a mode button, which enables you to switch between the clock and alarm. The set button is held to set the alarm and time. The adjust button is used to change the digits and the receive button is used to connect by radio control to the official time. This is great, as you can't have a more reliable and accurate alarm clock. It is exactly to the Greenwich Mean Time.
The front face consists of a screen, which acts as a large button itself. It's plastic so can't be damaged and doesn't get fingerprints on it, which is good, as it always looks clean! The screen says snooze/light to the top, as you can press it to set the snooze and trigger the light. This is great as the screen is quite large and it's easy to push it in to see the time in a dark room at night.
The screen itself has everything you will need. The time is in large digits on the top three quarters of the screen. It shows AM and PM if it's not in 24HR mode and it will also show DST. You can even see the seconds, which improves the accuracy of this alarm clock. The radio receiver is showed on the screen to be moving when it's searching for the GMT. Once it's found it, it will stay fixed on with a radio signal image.
Below on the bottom quarter of the screen, there are 3 sections split by digital lines. On the left is the date or year, which you can adjust. In the middle is the current day of week and to the right is the temperature, which can be displayed in Celcius or Fahrenheit. The clock is very easy to use and works really well. The alarm sounds quite loudly as 4 beeps in quick succession repetitively. The snooze works well, 3 times inclusive of the time the alarm was set for. There is a 4-minute gap between each alarm whilst it's on snooze.
For £20.00, I would seriously recommend this, as it's such a great alarm. It's really reliable and works excellently. It has many features and superb timing as it connects by radio control to GMT. You can buy it at John Lewis or through their site.
Thanks for reading,

Summary: A first-class alarm clock, that I would recommend to anyone

- 23/07/09 My alarm clock's got four legs, a long fluffy tale and no off button, but wouldn't change it for the world. |
