Kenwood CO606 Can Opener
Advantages: looks great and works well
Disadvantages: no biggies
A brilliant addition to any kitchen that offers a variation of functions that are easy to use, maintain and store.
The tin opener also comes with a knife sharpener, magnetic lid lifter, bottle opener and a handy little house for excess cord.
It looks great too and is available in other colours.
Would definetley recommend this product.
A tall curved chrome device that looks great in any modern kitchen. This product is also available in white but my son says the white one looks like a snowman!
The product looks great from any angle and so if you want to leave on your worktop sidewards on, to save space then you can do so knowing that it still looks great. Its actually a real talking point as its not strikingly obvious what its purpose is.
An essential when opening messy food like beans or soup!
This is also a great addition if using on the go in your motorhome (like my mum does) or resting on the side of a wall or your BBQ (for the bottle opening device)
Built into the back of the device is a blade sharpener, I have only used this once or twice (more to just test it rather than as a necessity) but cant grumble, seemed to work great and is a discreet welcome addition.
Well who doesnt need a spare bottle opener (and to know where one always is?) This is a great idea and we do use this all the time, at parties and BBQs and weekends.
MAGNETIC LID LIFTER:
What can I say? Lifts lids magnetically ;)
AUTOMATIC TIN OPENER:
Of course, its primarily a tin opener and it really is invaluable to those who find it difficult opening cans due to medical reasons or left handedness (is that a word?!?)
Works well although we had a few laughs on our first attempts to attach the tins.
*MAINTAINANCE AND CLEANING*
All aspects seem to be aging well and we have not had to replace any parts to date. All remain sharp and in good working order.
In terms of cleaning, chrome can be typically tricky and my mums biggest bug-bear is fingerprints so she usually avoids chrome and goes for brushed steel but as its not available she had to go for this one and uses my ickle tip..... Baby-oil! Just a tiny bit on some kitchen roll or cloth and gently rub over the product to leave it clean and sparkly...really does work!
This cost us £15 or so but my Mum and my Grandma also have one and they paid varying amounts between £13 and £20. We all have the chrome but have seen the white one as cheap as £11.
Only a few if Im being really really picky...
1. Potentially the chrome version can be tricky to clean
2. You have to learn the nack of attaching the tins but then theres no stopping you
3. Cant show off my party trick as often...(opening bottles with my teeth! )
***Keep clean using baby oil***
***A great buy for left-handed folks***
***A useful gift idea for those who struggle with their hands***
***Great for caravans, parties and BBQs***
also on ciao
