Kitchen Craft Chocolate Fondue Set
Advantages: Easy to use and clean, lot's of fun to use
Disadvantages: Can get messy
I bought my kitchen craft fondue set along with a couple of other kitchen craft items in immaculate condition from a carboot sale. As soon as I saw them and especially when I seen what they were being sold for I snapped them all up.
The price the owner was charging was £4 and the fondue set came fully boxed and I have my suspicions it had never been used as it was absolutely immaculate. Anyway I got him down to £3 and was thrilled with my new purchase.
Inside the box was the set which consists of a ceramic bowl, a stand that you place the bowl on and 4 forks for dipping into the fondue. It even had a tealight in the box so I was really pleased and think even if I had bought it from a shop I would have been pleased as it all looked really good quality.
To use the fondue set is simple as all you have to do is melt some chocolate in a pan and then put it in the bowl on top of the stand and start dipping. Don't be fooled into thinking the tea light will be enough to melt your chocolate as I made this mistake to begin with and an hour later the chocolate still hadn't melted. However it does help to keep the chocolate liquid and it also looks really fancy.
The ceramic is nice and sturdy feeling and washing them is an absolute breeze and I found that when taken out of the dishwasher they were cleaned perfectly with no chocolate sticking to them.
I have only used the fondue set with chocolate but I dare say there is nothing stopping you from using it with cheese as well.
My kids absolutely love it and are always asking me to get it out for them but I try and stick to just using it as a treat now and again. The good thing about it is that you can let your imagination run wild with what you use for dipping and although marshmallows are my favourite I also quite like using kiwi fruit and even grapes.
It's not just kids who will get a kick out of it either, I have used it for a dinner party with friends and they also absolutely loved it and everyone of them said they were also going to get one.
I find the size is perfect for the four forks but anymore than this and you should really consider looking into getting a larger one as I think any more forks and there just wouldn't be enough chocolate to go round.
If you are looking for something different for a dinner pary or even just as something fun to do with the family then I highly recommend getting the fondue set as both the kids and I love ours and I have been extremely happy with it. I had a look online and see that you can buy the kitchencraft fondue set for £13.75 on amazon which is a great price for something that will get a lot of use in the years you will own it.
Summary: A fun little fondue set
