Advantages: heat resistant, can be used in ovens, microwaves, freezers & popped in dishwasher after
Disadvantages: none at all for me
I like to cook and bake but one thing that drives me crazy is cleaning out the oven, the trays, the tins and roasting dishes. Thanks to Lakeland I no longer have to think twice before getting stuck in these days as I use their liners which, in my opinion are fantastic.
I own 2 but would like to buy more because you can cut them to fit sandwich tins, frying pans etc. At the moment I use mine as shown in the picture for baking - they are especially useful for scones and florentines -
plus I pop them inside roasting tins or flat trays. After cooking the food just glides off and I can pop them in the dishwasher so no need to tackle all the trays. When I think of how much time I spent cleaning our very large roasting dish it makes me cross!
The largest one I own is 33 x 100 cm ( which cost £9.49) but I have the smaller one too which measures 25 x 50cm and was just over £5. I have to admit that I saw some similar (so I thought) liners in Poundworld last year but when I used them I found them OK but nowhere near the same quality and they were not as easy to get clean.
I use mine for different things such as rolling out pastry and icing (it does not stick) and will be using it for the marzipan for my Christmas cake. I have kneaded bread dough on it plus salt dough (for Christmas decorations) plus I have made some small chocolates which I was hoping to give away as presents but ate them instead.
They are PTFE coated and heat resistant up to 260 degrees c. They can go in the freezer and microwave as well as the oven and dishwasher. To date I have had no problems whatsoever and there has been no staining or discolouration. Lakeland say the liners 'will withstand 5 years or more of constant use' and I have to believe it. It seems the only way you can ruin them is by cutting into them - so just make sure you remove your swiss roll, roulade etc onto another surface before slicing.
If there are any crafters reading this may I say these are a heck of a lot cheaper than buying those heat resistant craft mats you may have seen on shopping channels. I have successfully done all my heat embossing on these and you know how hot those heat guns get!!
I am planning to buy more in the near future and would highly recommend them if you, like me, hate clearing up after a session in the kitchen.
A full, well-deserved 5 stars from me for this simple yet effective, reasonably priced 21st century product :))
