“ Type: Clocks „
When mom was alive she suffered from vascular dementia in the last couple of years of her life and I was her full time carer. One of the problems we used to have was the fact that mom would get up at all times of the night thinking it was morning, She would say that she didn't look at the clock so we thought we would get her a clock with a larger display to see if that helped. We went into our local branch of H Samuel where we saw the Lexon Wall Street LCD Clock and we thought that this looked just what we were looking for. They had a range of clocks in this design from large wall clocks suitable for an office down to the small ones suitable for a bedside table. They were all the same design - just different sizes and prices. From memory I think the one that we bought was about £16 and it was about six inches by four inches. It takes two AA batteries which were included. The fascia of the clock is brushed aluminium and the whole thing is slim and looks very classy. As I say we bought it as a bedside clock for mom but it would look equally good as a desk clock. In fact as it is so slim it would also be good as a travel clock too! It can be hung on a wall or used as a table clock by folding out the small legs at the back. The display has large clear black numbers on a grey background and can be set to a twelve or a twenty four hour clock. Below the time display there are smaller numbers showing the date, the day (in letters) and the temperature in a choice of Celsius or Fahrenheit. The clock also has an alarm with a snooze function. I thought that the clock was very smart and the numbers were very easy to read. Sadly although mom agreed with me about how good the clock was she often still got up at the wrong time and would say that she forgot to look at it! Still that wasn't the fault of the clock so I would still definitely recommend it!
