      Fit for a princess

My middle daughter is 6 years old and still very much into Disney princesses, her room of the last 4 years is covered in Disney princess things but looked tired. Last month it was time to do her room but still wanted to princess theme, i opted for the fun to see large wall stickers , new bedding and some bits and bobs. One of the things that caught my eye on Amazon was the Mila children's wall clocks. Amazon have a huge range of Mila clocks and in loads of themes, i really liked the pirate ship however my son is past that age.
I settled for the Mila little princess clock so it could match in with my daughters bedroom.

Mila Children's Wall Clock Little Princess cost me £14.99 reduced from £21.00 these clocks are often discounted on Amazon uk and the best part about shopping on Amazon is the super saver delivery.
Mila Children's Wall Clock Little Princess comes packaged in a cardboard box underneath but cellophane wrap around it so you can see the pretty clock face. No instructions with the clock as its so straight forward to set up.

Mila Children's Wall Clock Little Princess measures roughly 22cm in diameter. The face has the design and hands but the back is just plain, its made from plywood and on the back you see the wood along with a small attached wall hanging hook and the battery compartment with a turn wheel to set the time.

Mila Children's Wall Clock Little Princess is deep pink in colour with a cute cartoon style princess as the picture, what i like most it the black bold numbers on the clock these really stand out and as my daughter has started learning the time this clock seems to help her read the time better. The hands on the clock face are also black and made from plastic also a red seconds hand.

Setting the clock requires 1 AA battery to be inserted into the plastic box on the back, this is uncovered so you can see where the battery goes. Also setting the time, you do this via the small wheel on the battery box when turning the hands go around on the face.
Hanging the clock was easy to do as i had a hook in to house, literally just screwing it into the wall and hanging the clock up.

I kept my daughters room fairly plain this time with white walls, pastel coloured princess themed wall stickers and the only real pink is her curtains and this wall clock. The clock really stands out and is very eye catching. I can check the time as i walk past her room as the bold black numbers stand out along with the hands. Although this clock was for decoration in her room at the fact she is learning to tell the time seems like an added bonus.
Very pretty wooden clock, even if princesses are not you theme there are plenty other Mila wall clocks to chose from.
I highly recommend the Mila children's all clock little princess.

A great clock if you can find it cheap, though at the RRP not worth it

Mila Childrens Wall Clock Little Princess

Although my little one is too young to tell the time yet, we came across this clock at a car boot sale for £2.00 and thought it would make a lovely addition to her newly decorated bedroom. Checking on Amazon.co.uk for the price, I have found that the price on average is £17.68 so we got ourselves a right bargain. Although the clock is lovely, I don't think I would have paid the full RRP for it as it does seem a lot of money for a children's clock, especially considering it will be a while before my youngster will be able to use it for actual time telling!

The clock is a reasonable sized clock at 22cm in diameter with the main colouring of a pale pink. In the centre there is a lovely picture of a princess dressed in darker pink. The numbers around the outside are bold and large which is great for children, and have a slight fun feel to the font. There is the usual two time hands, both in black to stand out, as well as a second hand in red.

The material is a thin metal material, though seems quite flimsy, not that this should matter too much as it is a wall hanging clock and apart from falling off of the wall then it should be fine! It does state on Amazon that it is unbreakable metal though I wouldn't want to test this! The time adjuster is situated on the back and does seem to need updating regularly, especially if the batteries need changing, though this happens in a lot of clocks. Also on the back is a small hook to hang it, though we have found that this is slightly misaligned which makes the clock hang slightly at an angle which is annoying.

One thing that I find annoying, though doesn't bother my little one at all, is the extremely loud ticking! I have rarely heard a clock tick so loudly! Luckily it does not bother my daughter, though if you have a light sleeping child then do keep this in mind.

Although there are a few negatives with this clock, I am extremely happy with my purchase, as is my little one, though I did manage to pick it up for £2.00. If I had paid the full price on Amazon, I think I would have been more disappointed.

          Nice and girly

I see this clock as an investment for the future as my daughter is much too young to worry about such things as time or numbers. However it fits in perfectly with the girly feel of her bedroom and the decision to buy it was all thanks to either Dooyoo or Ciao (I forget which) as I went off to Amazon to buy it after reading a review on one of the sites. On Amazon I paid £17.57 which having just checked is the current price still and there is no p&p to pay on delivery.

The clock is circular and is 22cm in diameter, it is a girly pink colour with a little princess picture dominating the whole design. What I like about the design is the fact that the numbers are nice and big and bold and are black in colour so they really stand out against the pink background. When she is able to tell the time and recognise numbers this will be a big help. I did think the difference in thickness between the minute and hour hand could be a bit more promounced but there is a very clear diffence in length so they are easily distinguisable.

The build quality is not the greatest, it does look a bit fragile even though it is made from metal, but then again for under £20 you cannot expect too much I guess, it is battery operated and whilst not the most accurate of time pices as I have had to adjust it a couple of times already as it lost a little bit of time it is still reasonably reliable. One thing I do notice is the fact that it does have a rather distinctive ticking sound, this has not been something that disturbs my daughter but it would me if I had it in my room so it would not be suitable for light sleepers.

It is a cool funky design and so far I have been happy with it however the couple of niggles does mean that it looses a star from me and gets 4/5.

A lovely clock for a little girl

Recently, after sharing a bedroom ever since there had been two of them, my daughters moved into separate bedrooms. This meant that we had to get quite a few bits and pieces including a clock for my youngest daughter's room. Her only stipulation was that it had to be pink so, after entering a search on Amazon for 'pink wall clocks' we ended up buying the Mila Childrens' Little Princess Wall Clock.

This is an analogue clock and also displays the numbers from one to twelve. I thought it was very important to get a clock like this as it will definitely help my daughter with learning how to tell the time.

The clock is circular and has a diameter of 38 cm. When I first saw it I thought it was made from wood but it is actually made from unbreakable metal - very handy as things do tend to get knocked about a bit in my daughter's room! It is hand painted with a bright and cheerful pink background with a picture of a cheeky looking golden haired princess painted over it. My daughter instantly fell in love with this princess and wouldn't look at any other clocks after spotting this one!

The clock is incredibly lightweight and has an easy hanging mechanism. It also has a battery box fixed to the back of the clock as it needs just one AA battery to power it. It does not state this on the product information on the Amazon site though, so if you buy the clock you'll need to have a battery handy too. The clock seems to keep excellent time powered in this way.

The hands are very delicate and could easily bend. As they are exposed on the clock (with no glass protection or anything) I have had to warn my daughter not to touch them or play with them. I can imagine that it would be quite tempting to move the hands round like she does with a toy clock and before you knew it the whole thing would be broken! Luckily she has not put that to the test yet! For this reason though I would suggest that this clock would not be suitable for a very young girl's bedroom.

The hands to make a slight ticking noise as they move around the clock. I did think that this might disturb my daughter as she was trying to sleep but luckily it does not seem to affect her at all. She is not a particularly light sleeper and if your child is they may find it problematic.

Overall this is a really attractive clock that will go very well in a small girl's bedroom. Not only is it fun and pretty to look at but it also is practical for learning and knowing the time. My daughter loves it and is often looking at it and asking the time.

One final positive thing to mention about this lovely clock is the price. It usually sells for £19.99 which I don't think is too unreasonable for such a useful and original clock, but at present you can get it from Amazon for £15.30 (October 2010).

            We definitely recommend it!
