Around Christmas time we invited a few friends around for drinks as we usually orgainise a Christmas gathering over the holidays to catch up and have a good night.

This year we decided to do a secret Santa, so we all were allocated someone to get presents for, with a gift price set at under £10. It was a bit of a laugh and everyone seemed to buy each other silly, novelty gifts. I received the Paladone Happy Man Corkscrew and also a match of this the Paladone Happy Man Bottle Opener.

The Paladone Happy Man Corkscrew is a hilarious little corkscrew, if you have a cheeky sense of humour, and I love mine. It is basic a little red man, with a corkscrew attached to where his manly bits should be, he also has his little red bum out on the other side. The little man looks really happy and has a great big smile on his face and is standing with his arms and legs wide open.

The corkscrew is surprisingly very good quality, it is sturdy and very easy to use. I have had no problems yet with this, and the little man is comfortable to hold while you are de-corking your wine bottle. The only problem I have with this is that you have to physically pull the cork out yourself with this corkscrew and I am used to removing corks with the corkscrews that are designed with 'legs' to push down and remove the cork easily.

I seen this recently in HMV in the novelty section for £5, which is quite expensive, though as a gift it is funny and functional and it definitely got a few laughs between us at the party. I do not think I would have bought this myself, but I was happy to receive it as a present.

Overall I think that this is the perfect gag present for a Christmas party. It is surprisingly good quality for a novelty corkscrew and every time I open the cupboard and see it, or have a bottle of wine to de-cork, I do smile to myself. It is however a little expensive and doesn't suit every ones humour and taste, so I would give this 4 out of 5 stars.
