Advantages: fun gift

Disadvantages: noise is annoying

My boyfriend loves spaghetti so as part of his stocking this year I bought him this novelty fork. The bonus is, it works a treat and instead of it just being a little joke gift, it is something he actually likes to use! I would recommend this as it is a fun little item that does not cost the earth. If you have a spaghetti fiend or just fed up of getting Bolognese all over your chin then this is the tool for you!

==Price and availability==

The cost of the fork was £5.00 and it was reduced. I bought it from Play.com but you can buy it from other sites.

==Description==

The body of the fork is red and inside this plastic case you need to insert two AA sized batteries (which are not included.) At the top is the metal fork which has four good size prongs. The fork is light and comfortable to hold. I guess it is quite tacky but it is fun. When the button is pushed the fork twirls around and you dig in and get a massive portion of spaghetti on your fork!

The fork can be washed with the rest of the cutlery and then it just dries naturally. The fork makes a whirring noise as it spins which is quite annoying but expected. You would not be able to get something with a motor and it be quiet so I should not really complain about it.

==Overall==

I have tried this myself but predominantly it is my boyfriends. I find it quite annoying to use and although it does pick up lots of pasta and makes a nice mouth sized portion, it annoys me to use it! I have mastered the art of using a fork and a spoon to make spaghetti quite ladylike so I do not need this little gadget. When I have used it though I find it easy to hold and easy to manoeuvre though, it fits in your hand well and the prongs pick up plenty of pasta. I think it is the constant buzzing that gets on my nerves as it makes me eat too quickly! My boyfriend on the other hand loves this and finds it really easy and the noise does not bother him! He is a very lazy boy though and anything that makes his life easier it a winner for him. He will quite happily amuse himself with this and eat his dinner with it. I am glad that he has found a use for it as I thought it was going to be just a novelty gift! We have tried this on noodles and it works just the same, although it is not very successful with pot noodles as the noodles are a little short!

Overall, I would recommend it as it is a fun gift and it is quite well made! If a revolving fork is what you are looking for, then you can look no further, this gadget has it all!

Summary: a fun little gift
