Advantages: cheap but works fine for my purposes
Disadvantages: none for me
This office stapler set comes exactly as shown in the Dooyoo picture and can be found in the stationary section in Poundland and the packaging is simple yet functional.
The set comes in a plastic moulded casing and mine is pink although my friend bought one at another branch and hers is blue. There are 3 components enclosed -
- the stapler itself
- a staple remover
- a few staples to get you going
I recently decided to sort out my growing pile of old bills and paperwork so needed something to attach a few sheets together at a time but did not want to fork out the £5 or £6 required at other shops. I was therefore pleased to find this set for just a quid because, although it is not the best quality, it works fine for me.
The stapler is slightly smaller than ones I have used in the past but is not a mini stapler. It is fairly lightweight but not unsubstantial and was pre-filled with staples which was good. I tend to use it to staple between 2 - 6 pages at a time because it does not seem to be able to cope with more. This is fine for me but may be a problem for those who need to do staple loads of papers. I find it easy enough to load too.
The staple remover is a rather strange looking item and I thought I would not use it but it has proved invaluable and has saved my nails being wrecked. You just lever it under the staple and it removes them quickly and without tearing the paper if you do it carefully.
The staples included in the set would probably fill the stapler about 6 or 7 times which is good for my purposes and they seem to be the standard size which means they are not difficult to source when these run out.
I am very pleased with my Poundland Stapler Set because it suits my needs as a moderate user. For those needing to do a good deal of stapling and need to attach 6+ sheets at a time it may not be for you.
** just a note to say that our branch of Poundland has a 3-for-2 offer on many stationary/back-to-school items at the moment **
Summary: a cheap and cheerful sttapler set which suits my purposes and only costs £1
