A cute wall clock for the kitchen.

When my fiancé and myself moved into our home we had this bought for us as a house warming present. Now I have to admit it is the last thing we would have chosen for ourselves, but we felt we had to use it especially as the friends who bought it are regular visitors to our home and we didn't want to look ungrateful. However after actually putting it on the wall we love it!
The clock is the Present Time Utensils Wall Clock. Ours was a gift but they are currently on Amazon for approximately £22.00.

The clock is made from steel, both brushed and shiny. The round face of the clock has a brushed steel circular pattern on it resembling an old vinyl record. There are no numbers on the clock face, the numbers are marked by 12 utensils which fan out from the clock face.

The numbers 12 and 6 are marked by 2 large draining spoons, 3 and 9 are 2 large ladles, 2,4,8 and 10 are forks and 1,5,7 and 11 are spoons. Al these are shiny silver with slightly patterned handles. When the clock is on the wall these utensils look very nice on the clock, however they are actually a little bit flimsy when you touch them. I always use a fluffy duster to clean them as I don't think it would take too much pressure to bend them.

The hands of the clock are made from a knife and fork, very cute but unfortunately they are the same colour as the face and blend in a bit too well. It can be difficult some times to actually see them. I have got used to it now but it may not be ideal for those whose eyesight isn't as good. If I'm cooking and want to time something exactly, I use the little clock on my cooker.

The utensil clock runs by battery and takes 1 AA battery, this wasn't included in the box and needs to be purchased separately . The shape of the utensils make the clock a diamond shape when its on the wall, its measurements are approximately 44 x 43cms, so it takes up quite a large chunk of wall space.

In conclusion, despite all the little niggles with this wall clock I have to say that I recommend it. It does have several negatives, the hands being the same colour as the face, the flimsy utensils, the amount of wall space it takes up and maybe some would even think the design "tacky" but once on the wall I have to say it really does look great.

Ive deducted just 1 star for all the negatives the clock has because how it looks outweighs these for us.
