“ The original Space Pen / Still used on all manned Space Flights - both American and Russian / 100 Years Shelf-life. „
The Fisher Space Pen is an amazing product. Not only can it write upside-down without the ink flow stopping, but the makers have claimed it will perform in temperatures as hot as 200C and as cold as -20C.
This review relates to all the Bullet Space Pens made by Fisher and not just this rainbow version shown in the picture. The one I own is the plain metal version.
The pen itself is small, and when closed it measures just over half the length of a standard pen. The lid part can be removed and placed at the bottom of the pen, thus creating a full sized writing implement.
The design ensures the product fits comfortably in the hand.
Some users may not like the quality of line that this pen produces, it is very consistent, but it can sometimes look a little scratchy. Having said that though, I personally don't have any issues with it.
I carry this pen, partly because of it's handy size, and partly because it's extremely reliable, and the pressurized ink cartridges ensure a longer life (around 3 times longer) than standard pens. Refills are available to buy for around £2.50, but I have never needed to buy one. For this reason, and all the other versatile stuff this pen can do, I would definitely recommend getting hold of one.
