Advantages: Reasonable price, strong colours, look good

I first found these pens whilst working weekends at an art shop, these being very popular amongst the local art college students. At 0.4mm, the fineliner nib allows for accurate detail in drawing, but also show up vividly due to the wide range of vibrant colours - however, the lighter colours are not designed for making notes, and will prove hard to read.

I personally use these for college and university notes and revision - I find it easier to recall information if it's appealing to the eye, and these pens help do that! I wouldn't suggest using these for day-to-day lectures, as fineliners do tend to run down far quicker than biros when writing a good deal, but instead for titles, highlighting, or diagrams.

Very practical, Stabilo fineliners use waterproof ink so do not bleed or smudge easily, and the rounded ink tip means that you can write or draw with the pen at an angle. The coloured ends of the pens also make it easy to find whichever you need. Packs are very affordable for students, working out at less than £1 per pen. I have found that they last slightly longer than the Staedtler alternative also. I would recommend these to anyone of any age or professional as a desk essential.
