Advantages: Looks cool

Disadvantages: Kinda useless

The swiss tech utility key is a pretty cool gadget. It looks like a key, but "holds" many different items. These include a knife, 3 different screwdrivers, a keychain attachment, and a bottle opener. I do actually like this item in terms of its uniqueness, and the fact it looks and is about the same size and weight as a normal key, which may lead you to think why has he given it only 2 stars? That is because the tools on it are fairly useless.

Ok, going through. 1 of the screwdrivers is marketed as a small screwdriver for glasses (the type that go on your eyes). I tried them out on my dad's glasses, they were too big to fit in the slot, widthways not lengthways. Sadly its no good at that.

Surely the other screwdrivers are good. One of them, the philips, is actually not to bad to use. Sadly though, the flat head screwdriver, although it fits fines, kind of has a disadvantage... in the fact that you have to hold the knife to put any torque on it. Trying to grab a knife tightly whilst twisting... isn't.. well... ideal really.

But surely, the bottle opener will carry this device through! Sadly again, not the case. You need to leave once again on the blade... really its a terrible thing because it feels like the items i just described are added without though, to a design that otherwise is pretty dam good.

Then we get to the knife. Sadly this is kinda ruined because to hold it, you have to hold it from the bottle opener. I wish they had just never bothered to put that useless bottleopener on, as it has caused real problems in this device.

So in summary. This is a very cool peice of kit. The reason I have given it 2 stars though its no wear near as handy as other cool multitools. I got this device for nearly 10 pounds from amazon. Considering I now carry a tiny little leatherman style (but not leatherman) multitool i got for 3 pounds and is made in china, and it has never let me down, but the 10 quid swiss made device has never functioned properly.. just feels like a real shame. But I do look forward to seeing their other devices, I am sure they will get it right one day.

Anyway, thats my review, thanks for reading

Summary: More of a gimmick
