I mainly used the cash stash for just storing £5 or £10 notes and it meant I could have some money seperate for when I needed it instead of digging around in my bag for my purse. The true ultility cashstash is an interesting device. It is a simple hollow cylinder made out of aircraft grade aluminum, with a screw top, and a rubber O ring at the joint between the top and the bottom. This is attached onto a keychain. Inside the cylinder is a clip. The aim of this is so that you take say a £10 or something, and fold it in a certain way (instructions on the back of the packet), and thus you can carry extra money with you. Ok, price? I got mine including delivery for around £5-6. This was back when the thing was pretty new, so I am not sure if you can get it cheaper now (but on ebay there are loads of "rip off" versions ... I bought my husband one of these for Christmas, because he hardly ever carries any cash on him. His excuse that 'neither does the Queen' doesn't really cut it, not when he has to go to the cash machine constantly, having to get £10 out because he doesn't have a spare £5 on him - and of course, once you've broken into a tenner you spend the rest so quickly! The number of times he's found himself stuck in places with no working cash machine but no cash on him is uncountable. I recieved one of these for christmas from my mum . I think her logic was that, as I'm always moaning about how skint I am, I could put some money aside for emergencies in this handy little keyring stash. Oh, how ill thought out that logic was . While the attractive little aluminium canister looks good on a keyring, and has a rubber waterproof seal that also stops your cash from getting soggy, the simple fact is that there is nothing stopping me from easily opening this to get at the cash when I just feel like a little treat! I bought this cash stash online. I'd seen them around quite a bit and thought they would be handy to have. It cost me £5-£6 at the time but i'm pretty sure you can probably get it cheaper now. The cash stash is a little aluminium storage compartment basically.
