Advantages: Looks beautiful, a useful and attractive item, easy to change the photographs
Disadvantages: Pricey
I have the full size Umbra Fotofalls Photo Tree and think it's wonderful, so when I recently bought a larger dining table I decided to buy the smaller desktop version to display some photographs as a centrepiece.
The Photo Tree is very easy to put together, after I had taken it out of the box it took me literally two minutes to construct it and start attaching my beloved family snaps.
It's made of a shiny nickel which blends in beautifully with the pine and neutral colour scheme of my dining area, I know from experience that the full sized Tree is easy to buff back to its original shine so am expecting a similarly simple to clean product from this identical but smaller version.
My photographs attach to the Fotofall with flat crocodile clips which have been especially designed to be kind to the photographs. They open and close with ease and I can confirm they do not mark or damage my precious photographs at all.
The branches of the tree could perhaps fan out a little more as some of the larger photographs look a little cramped and overlap somewhat. I have managed to get around this by printing my own photographs and making them slightly smaller than average, but some of my older and larger snaps are beyond scanning and these ones are certainly not displayed to their best on this tree.
This doesn't matter though as I have simply placed these on my larger tree and used other more modern photographs for this desktop display unit. This tree will hold 18 photographs which I think is very good, when I was looking around to buy a desktop photo display tree I could only find them to hold 12 pictures so the extra six this one can display is a bonus.
The tree looks beautiful on my dining table now and visitors can sit and twirl the tree around and look at my photographs, I love how easily they can be changed too and am currently displaying all the photographs I took at my daughters house on Christmas Day. We are going to a party next week so no doubt the photographs of this occasion will replace the Christmas snaps soon.
The Umbra Fotofalls Desktop Photo Display Tree is not cheap, it costs almost £18 from Amazon which I would certainly not pay if it wasn't such a substantial and attractive addition to my home. You can buy photo trees cheaper but they lack the finish of this product and you have to be careful with cheaper versions as they can damage your photographs which would be awful.
Summary: If you have a desk that needs brightening up then try a Fotofall!
