Anyone familiar with Guitar Hero on the Wii will be fimiliar with the Activision RedOctane Wireless Guitar Controller. A necessary piece of kit, that certainly improves the gaming experience of Guitar Hero. Be warned though, this guitar is quite expensive and will set you back about £30. However, when you measure that against the enjoyment of playing the game, it is probably, no definitely worth while.

Setting up the guitar so it is ready to use is painless enough. Simply remove the plastic casing from the back of the guitar and slot in the standard Wii controller. Then replace the plastic casing and you are ready to go.

The guitar controller is wireless, thank goodness. It would be pain having to connect the guitar to the Wii via a long wire, especially if you have more than one player.

The guitar is quite weighty. I would say that anyone under the age of 10 would struggle to operate it. Luckily it comes with a guitar nylon strap, so you are able to secure it to your person. The strap is adjustable in length, so you can personalise it to a length that meets your requirements.

There are colour fret buttons and a strum bar. Tapping those in time with another button will ensure you get the necessary points to beat your opponent, though this is quite tricky.

There is also a built in auto sleep mode, to ensure that your battery life doesn't waste away and a touch sensitive slide bar, ensuring that it is simple enough to strum along to your favourite tunes.

All in all I award this essential gaming guitar five out of five Dooyoo stars.
