Advantages: Accurate, reliable, practical and fun.

Disadvantages: Eats batteries, a bit on the heavy side.

Shaped in a similar way to the well-known Thompson M1A1 machine gun, this light gun controller for the Wii is pretty up to scratch, it must be said.

Along with a highly innovative and ergonomic design, coupled with great access to the Wiimote's Face Button, it comes with an extremely accurate, very well tweaked laser sight function which, whilst eating batteries like there's no tomorrow, is a really brilliant and underused idea which thoroughly enhances your gaming experience, bringing about a kind of two-and-a-half dimensional mode of play. It's also accurate and very reliable with a wide number of action game applications.

The Wiimote slides easily into place and, much like the Zapper (but better) the nunchuk can be slid into the back and even rotated for extra ease of play.

Its fairly damn heavy though, and feels like a really chunky, heavy gun which definitely makes for a visceral gaming experience. The inner speaker of the Wiimote isn't blocked at all by the heavy, high-quality plastic, and its very easy to put together and dismantle each time you want to use it. The control system is very well-weighted and apart from not being compatible with WiiMotion Plus, this is a pretty high quality bit of kit, definitely for those with a passion for rail shooters and FPSs, although more conventional first person titles may cause the user a bit of trouble in terms of having to mess about with the nunchuk in the back whilst holding the gun with one hand.

Overall this is definitely on of the more robust and impressive light guns for the Nintendo Wii. - You can get it for around a tenner online, and its not commercially available offline to my knowledge, so the price isn't set to drop anytime soon. At around a tenner its a definite bargain and a light gun I would wholeheartedly recommend. Go for it.

Summary: A cool light gun at a great price.
