Advantages: Very accurate, and easy to set up. Just plug in reciever, and start playing!
Disadvantages: NOTHING, as far as I know after using it for 4 years
Since this is my very first gamepad, I cant say if it is the best or not. What I can say is that it works great for me. Absolutely great!
The gamepad has 12 buttons, dual analog controls and 4 optionally usable navigation keys. I bought it more than 4 years ago, and still I use it. It has faced no damage, believe it or not. It has feel once or twice from my hand, but it still works just like it did four years ago when I bought it. Some more detailing:
The gamepad has buttons 1,2,3 and four arranged on the right hand side of the device. You mainly use these for things like special item, coming in or out or stuff like that.
Then you have four buttons arrange on the front of the device. These are buttons 5,6,7 and 8. Its arranged in a way that 5 and 6 are at the top, and 7 below 5 and 8 below 6. These are used for switch weapon, boost up, fire weapon, brake, handbrake etc.
Then you have button 9 and 10 on the front of the device, in the center. These are used for stuff like change camera, view messages, pause game etc.
Now, button 11 and 12, they are under the dual analog controls. You press the left one down, it activates button 11. Similarly, press button the right one down and it activates button 12. These are used for small stuff like sub-mission, tilt left or something like that.
The gamepad provides vibration. This can be adjusted by pressing the "Vibration button" below button 10. Also, the "Mode Button" below button 9 allows you to switch usage between the left analog control and the ordinary navigation controls, in case you're more comfortable with the latter.
Overall, I loved the kind of service this thing has given me. I use it with all games compatible with it, which has a VERY wide range.
UPDATE: Following a comment about some more details ( apologies for not having them earlier ) , I'd like to add some more details.
Holding: Its difficult to explain on how you hold it, but I'll try my best. Firstly, you use it with both hands, which is pretty obvious. The two downward slope like things, you clasp them with your little finger on both hands. The Index finger of the left hand lies on button five, and the middle finger on button 7 (As I told you, 7 is right below 5). Similarly, the right hand index finger lies on button 6, and the right hand middle finger on button 8. Its very comfortable to hold, and made in a way that you wont mistakenly press the wrong button. The buttons are very big and spaced away from each other well, so you can comfortably play your game without any annoyance.
Control Response: Trust me, there's not even a millisecond of a delay. You press the button, and you instantly get the result on screen. The thing is wireless, and has quit some range, yet from anywhere within the range, response is instant. No delay, no annoyance.
Batteries and Lifetime: This one uses AA batteries. I play almost everyday, I'd say for 2-3 hours everyday. I cant very accurately give you the data, but I think it lasted for about 3-4 months. Whatever be it, it uses battery very efficiently. At least thats what I thought of it.
Summary: I would certainly recommend this product to anyone who likes playing games.
