Advantages: cheap, plenty of buttons and analogue thumbstick controls.

Disadvantages: its not wireless.

Anyone who's tried to play console games or MAME on a computer knows that keyboards just don't cut it. Its especially true for emulating N64 of playstation 2 games where the analogue thumb stick control is required - a mouse can't substitute this and neither can a keyboard. Enter the Logitech dual action as a great cheap way to fill the void. Modelled just like a playstation 2 controller, its got everything - dual thumb sticks, buttons for 'x' 'o' 'square' etc and 'start' arrows, 4 trigger finger buttons. Setting this up with typical emulators such as project64 is easy. Its recognized straight away being usb and just press buttons on the gamepad to correspond to whatever setup you want. Only downside is its not wireless but that would add to the cost.

Summary: for the pc user wanting to dabble in MAME or console games, this gamepad is a must!

With the right drivers you can use a PS3 pad with your PC. Although it only works over USB.
