I recently ordered this off Ebay to play with my new Gran Turismo 3 game. I was extremely excited about this new wheel as I was finding controlling a joystick a very difficult skill to master.
The wheel is an average size and comes with an accelerator and brake pedal. You connect the wheel to one of the controller ports in your PS2 while the pedals connect to the wheel.
As I tried out the wheel to my disappointment I found it extremely difficult to use. You had to turn the wheel very far for the car to turn and when it did turn it seemed to only be able to make extreme turns that sent me hurtling into walls, definately not the smooth turns promised.
The one good thing about this product is that you don't need to use an ordinary controller to control the game. On the wheel there are the x, the circle, the triangle and the square buttons as well as the directional buttons making it easy to navigate through the game.
I would definately consider other alternatives before buying this wheel.
As you take your seat and start your motor, check your controls one last time. Whether this is a new course to you - or an old adversary - you'll need to keep your eyes on the track and, for the most part, feel the device that controls your actions. The design and test teams behind Logitech Driving Force have spent long hours with fully working design prototypes, positioning the clusters of controls around this world-class race wheel, to ensure that they are easy to find, enabling you to optimize your driving performance in any make of car - and experience a new level of enjoyment in Gran Turismo 3 and other PlayStation 2 driving games. As you drive your car to its limits you will be experiencing the full power of realistic force feedback. Every time you change direction, scrape a wall, hit new terrain, brake or accelerate, the dynamic forces from powerful mechanism inside the wheel will deliver astonishingly realistic force feedback - designed to keep you in close contact with the on-screen action - even when you're totally off the ground!
