Advantages: Smooth action, positive feeling buttons, very comfy

Disadvantages: no force feedback, one handed only

I have this joystick for the purposes of flying combat flight sim although I have also used it for racing and driving games.

It seems to excel at both. One thing that should probably be noted at this point is that it does not have force feedback. If this is something that you want there is no point considering this product it will never suffice. If you don't want it though, this is one of the best joysticks you can buy.

It has 7 buttons, a throttle control and a hatswitch/view toggle. They are all placed in convenient places so that you won't have to think about where they are. Two are on the base and operated by the left hand, 4 are on the top and are controlled by the right thumb and the 7th is a trigger button. They all feel solid to press and have a positive feel.

The joystick has 3 axes, forward/back, left/right and twist/rudder. The movement through all of them is smooth and predictable and is well sprung enough to return to the centre smoothly too.

It should be pointed out that this joystick is right hand specific. They do also make a left handed model but if two people using use different hands this could be a problem. It is possible to use the 'wrong' hand but it is not nearly as comfy. And it is comfy. With the right hand holding it it is the exact right shape and supports your hand well.

My model is a slightly older version than the one pictured (though it would be almost exactly the same) and has a game controller port on it. Newer ones may come with USB connectors. If you don't have a Game port this is not a problem as adapter to switch from one to the other are available.

Overall this is the best joystick (force feedback or otherwise) that I have used and is still the one I'd choose to play any computer game.

Summary: If you want a joystick, this is the one to go for
