A little disappointing after the novelty wears off.
Member Name: CatMixAC
Advantages: Much more responsive than the Wii.
Disadvantages: Does not understand a lot of movements and takes a lot of set up.
The Kinect was a pretty revolutionary piece of equipment when it was first launched and I was beside myself with excitement to try it out when it was first released. However after two weeks or so the novelty completely wore off. One issue is the amount of space you need to play a game properly and I got a bit sick of moving the furniture about every time I wanted a game. Having said that it is very responsive to little movements which makes it much better than the Wii. There are a few good games which you can use with it but it hasn't been integrated perfectly, for example the voice command when playing Skyrim is incredibly irritating as you just get told that the game does not understand the request. It seems that a huge opportunity has been missed here; it had so much potential but fell a little short of expectations. I thought I would be running around, shouting commands and being really interactive with my games however this was not the case, the body movements it understands can be limited when not playing one of the "Kinect" designed games (such as Kinectimals).
Summary: a little disappointing after all the hype.
