@ About @ This controller comes as a package with a figurine when bought brand new. I have had this special edition controller for one year and have used it mainly for games other than halo. It works with every other game, and yes it's just a regular Xbox 360 controller with no additions or extra buttons. So why might you ask, does this controller cost £50? It comes with a special halo theme on the front and also a special edition figurine of master chief. Very nice for the halo enthusiast. @ The figurine @ If you want this figurine to stand up then forget about it, that won't happen. It's another one of these won't stand up figurines. Master chief does not have a base, he has legs which can move. His feet move too, but are uneven. Glue is the best solution for this or if you want to store master chief then keep the legs together, they don't move very much before they start to creak. You also get a grenade which slots into his leg. It takes some grip to get it out as its incredibly small and fiddle. He also has a gun which slots into his hand, and can be held by the other. He can get into the position shown on the cover of halo 3 but takes about ten minutes of fiddling around since his limbs are well assembled (a good thing) but do require some effort. @ The controller @ The one I have has taken a real beating - the guide button has worn down completely and isn't shiny anymore. The rubber sticks have both worn smooth and both triggers are creaky and hard. It's taken a lot of wear and tear over the years but the main feature of this controller distinct to the others is the plastic cover with the halo graphics on. This is just an elite controller with a plastic halo cover stuck on, it's not printed on. It hasn't come off and the cover is still stuck down at all corners without any plastic chunks coming off, and still has the original plastic sheeting on the top. The cover is only on the front though and it seems a bit odd to just have a plain controller on the back. The cover runs onto the inside of the d pad compartment and inside it hasn't peeled off despite constant clicking of the d pad on the side of the plastic cover. This controller then, is just a regular controller with a design. (the figurine was the main reason i bought this, its a great souvenir) It's just as good and the design on the front has remained in excellent condition. @ Overall @ A brilliant controller but the master chief figurine is too stiff and I can't justify paying the extra £10 for a figurine which isn't that good. The cover makes the controller unique and more interesting to a regular controller but If I had known the figurine had been that stiff and hard to position when I bought it I would have not bothered.
IVe had 4 of these, the first one i bought cheap and ended up selling for 3 times as much as i bought it for because they are pretty rare. They look great, i bought the other three as investments, the sale of the first one pretty much covered the cost of these ones. I woudl say that they are more of a collectors item then something that woudl would use day in and day out with your xbox. Ive got mine tucked away and one on display, the artwork is great and they are a must have for any halo fan, i cannot fault them. Ive got three spartan ones and ive never seen an elite one, they are pretty rare. They operate in the exact same way as the normal xbox controllers. It suits my hands perfectly, it may not for others but it just feels right. The buttons are well placed and i adapted to it really well and quickly. The layout is easy to lean and everything is within read of your thumbs, theres no moving around to do button combos, they are the prefect space to quickly move between if you are using them for any fighting game. Its very easy to set up, you just push the sync button on it and your xbox and it should connect in a matter of seconds. Pros; - Looks great - Collectors item - Rare - Wireless, Quite a far signal - Strong - Great button layout - Vibration feedback, may not seem alot but it completly changes the experience. - A must have for any halo fan Cons; - Can be quite expensive due to rarity - Can be too big for smaller hands. - Dirt can build up in the joints and connections. - Joystick buttons can start to fail and lose some sensitivity because they are the main buttons being used. - I woudlnt reccomend using it all the time, can cause the artwork to fade.
I came over the Limited Edition Halo 3 Controller while round a friends house, and he showed me the 'bargain limited edition controller' he had just bought. Me not being a fan of the Xbox 360 I believe Microsoft are milking money off of any idea coming to mind. The controller itself is pretty cool however, with all the buttons a Official wireless controller has but with extra graphical design on the controller itself. The controller shape is also slightly different to the original with regards to the 'bits which you hold with your hand' and the D-PAD. But with all the cool graphics and Slightly variated Controller design I still feel that the design is the official controller wrapped in cotton wool. It does work beatifully like the original Controller and It does contain the right features. However.... It dosen't have any new Features as such and neither does it have a new effect as such. If you are a Halo fanatic like my Friend and would jump at the chance for merchandise, then this is only a limited edition so I would recommend to you. But for the average person with an Xbox 360 I would not recommend this if you already have the Official wireless controller, it is the same exact copy! What exactly is wrong with the original that makes you want to buy another copy of the original? Thanks for Reading
Releasing such a prominent franchise seems to have had many many benefits for Microsoft - and one of them is certainly the fact that they can release gimmick items such as these and be sure that die-hard fans (no not fans of the Die-Hard movie series) will buy them. This controller will perform like any other controller - I have even known people to claim that it has more of a slippy surface than the bog-standard Xbox 360 controller and if you are prone to have sweaty hands then this can be an issue for you. The designs themselves are subject to opinion obviously - but I think unless you have the Halo console, then this controller is going to look pretty out of place connected to the standard white or black console. Be under no illusions that this controller will perform better, or that the triggers have smoother function as some retailers claim. It is a pretty (again subject to opinion) bog-standard Xbox 360 controller catered to the die-hard Halo fan.
The Halo series is one of the most popular known to man, with Millions of games being sold (don't ask me why, I can't actually stand Master Chief and all his adventures!) and therefore Microsoft inevitably were going to capatalise on this and milk the franchise for all it's worth. We've already seen a Halo headset and even a Halo styled Xbox 360 itself, and now comes two limited edition controllers for the Master Chief fanatics. The controller features exactly the same button layout as the original and other theme Xbox 360 controllers and this allows users to easily pick up and play with the controller. It is also worth noting that the controller only comes as a Wireless controller, with no wired option being available; and therefore if you're afraid of your batteries getting eaten, this isn't the controller for you. The design on the controller features the famous Master Chief on the left hand side with a vehicle, what appears to be a Warthog, full with 4 soldiers on the right hand side of the controller. A light and dark blue colour scheme fills the controller with a tint of red being seen. The controller looks appealing, but I personally wouldn't run out and buy one just for this design. If you already own a 360 controller, stay away; but if you're looking for a new controller and you're a huge Halo fan, you can't go wrong...
Where to begin with this magnificent piece of gaming technology? This is (and i wont have any argument) THE best controller on the market, beautiful design, and incredibly comfortable for hours of pure gaming, and causes no discomfort or fatigue whilst gaming. The wireless function is amazing 2.4 GHz, with a range of thirty foot, and even cuts through walls and floors, allowing you to play from the other room, pointless i know, but its good to know you can. Very easy to use just pop the bateries in and turn it on using the xbox guide button, simple as that. The battery life is very good also. The xbox guide button puts you in controll from the beginning, allowing you to view any pictures or listen to music that happen to be on your hard drive. Oh and unlike the PS3 or Wiimote.... there arent any fancy gimmicks like the sixaxis, its just a pure controller, plain and simple. The halo 3 edition, set this controller apart from the rest, with a unique look over the regular controller, this is a must have for halo fans. I would reccomend the wireless over the wired any day.
like they say this is a limeted addition halo 3 xbox 360 controller, and this is not to be missed by any halo 3 fan if you own any of the halo games, and you feel this controller may be for you then i probably is. however if you are a true halo fan and have all three halo games then why havnt you got this controller allready. this controller is a wireless controller meaning that there are no wires to plug into your xbox 360. and like any other wireless controller as well as no wires this controller can be used from further away from the 360 than youcoul with a normal wired controller. this controller is hard to find in the shops so why wait to buy this novelty halo controller, in my personal opinion i think that this is a controller to suit any one who finds halo an infinetaly interesting game. however if you think that this controller is special besides the looks then you may be dissapionted as this controller is pretty much for a halo fan who like the look of halo. if you are not fully into halo then i suggest that you give buying this controller another thought as you may find it a waste of money but that is entirely up to you.
If you need an extra controller for your Xbox 360 and love Halo then you can't go wrong with a halo limited edition wireless controller. The design of this and controller is really nice it has some great artwork on it, it features the master chief on one side and a warthog with Spartans in it on the other, this is a very high quality and it doesn't mark or chip it and wipes clean easily. The shape of this controller is the same as the standard Xbox360 wireless controller which is good, it also functions identically. The layout is good, the buttons are good, and it is robust and reliable. If you are more a fan of the covenant you can get a covenant brute edition of this controller. As these are limited edition you may find buying one of these is the less easy now that they probably have stopped making them. You should be able to get one for around 25 to 40 pounds.
This limited edition Halo 3 controller has two different version available - the first being this spartan one (which i own) or there is also a covenant one available. THis is very much similar to a normal wireless controller with all the same buttons and triggers, except that it has a much smoother surface. However the main difference is that it has some very cool artwork on it. This shows images of master chief standing alone on one side and a warthog (the vehicle) on the other side. The art is of very high quality and will not come off - i have owned mine for six months and it is still in very good condition. The back of the controller is just black and this is quite unique from the standard white controller. Another advantage of buying this controller is that you get a cool little figurine of master chief aiming a machine gun. This looks quite nice to stick on top of your television. This controller costs £34.99 from most retailers and is certainly worth the extra £3 more than a normal wireless controller for a cool design and a nice little figurine. This is just a great purchase for any Halo fan or just any xbox 360 user! Summary of features - 2.4GHz wireless technology with 30-foot range - Lag-free play - Integrated headset port for Xbox LIVE play - Adjustable vibration feedback for longer battery life - New left and right shoulder buttons are designed for ease of use - The Xbox Guide Button at the centre of the controller gives you quick access to all your favourite Xbox 360 system activities
Really get into the game with the Limited Edition Halo 3 Wireless Controller, which is showcasing stunning original artwork from comic book master Todd McFarlane.
