Advantages: Ergonomically good to hold, Solid build quality, Wireless, Easy to set up

Disadvantages: Uses disposable batteries, but rechargable ones can be bought seperately.

I know PS3 fan boys will say that this controller is too bulky etc. but I bought a second wireless one because in my opinion I prefer it. For me, the ergonomics of this controller are perfect. I used to own a PS and PS2 but after they both broke (both disk drive failures), I decided to move to the Xbox, that and I couldn't afford a PS3 when they came out.

So from experience on both consoles I can say the xbox controller wins for me. I feel that the PS controller was designed before the time anyone really used analogue sticks as the D-pad on those controllers felt more natural, sony just never bothered changing the layout when less arcade stlye games started coming out where you found using the D-pad wasn't as good anymore. Having one joystick higher up feels better as you can have both hands firmly against the sides of the controller and the extra bit of bulk gives you something to grip on to for steadier control. The PS is just awkward when trying to use both joysticks. I found myself having my left hand twisted up in order to reach the stick.

That aside, it is worth having a second wireless controller if you like to play with your friends or family as they are nice controllers to use and I would prefer them over different brands as the official ones are built solid and not had a problem with any of mine yet after 2 years of hard gaming. Can't fault it really.

Summary: Microsft made a winner, The ergonomics of the design are perfect.
