Having purchased the Nintendo Wii and playing some of the games which only require the standard Wii controller (likes of ten pin bowling, baseball, etc) and loving it I then decided to move on to try another game in the Wii Sports game (this is something which comes with the Nintendo Wii console) and so picked boxing. Once I had loaded up the game and was setting up to play this I was offered to play with the Nintendo nunchuck additional controller so decided to give it a shot but does this additional controller feel like an added thought?

Pros:
The Wii nunchuck controller is beautifully crafted and thought out so that its contours are matched perfectly to your hand which leads to you having a very comfortable gaming experience with no strain or pain (for either those who are left or right handed). I personally find this controller to be one of the best designed out there as it really is simple and comfortable and easy to use which enables great gameplay with ease.
The controller is very lightweight which once again helps in the cutting down of chance of strain, sprain and pain.
The nunchuck controller is simple to setup and use by simply plugging its cable in to the bottom of the Wii wireless controller. Although most are now used to wireless gameplay the fact this is wired does not detract from the gameplay as you are plugging this in to a wireless controller (so no need to worry about needing to be close to the console). I have used this controller on a number of games and never had a problem with the wired connection.
The controller is well laid out with a stick for movement all that is on the front on the controller and 2 buttons on the top of the controller so that you still get extra control options but without an overly complexed control system. The controller also has a three axis motion sensor in built (the same three axis as found in Wii wireless controller) so that on games like boxing this can act as your left or right hand so that you get complete control available. The motion sensor on this works well in my opinion for games like boxing but it can feel somewhat weird as the difference in weight between this and main controller does lead to somewhat of a weird balance so it will take some getting used to.
The nunchuck controller is well priced at around about £10-£15 and is available in most placed where Nintendo Wii accessories are available. This may sound like a lot as it is an additional controller but the fact it is giving you extra control over your games and making many games much easier to play makes this a worth while purchase. You do get a nunchuck controller as part of your Nintendo Wii console package so you will only need to purchase another one if you require multi-player gaming.
The controller does not require any batteries whatsoever as it uses power from your standard controller which it is plugged in to.

Overall I have found the Nintendo nunchuck controller to be a great little piece of kit which looks great in white and is well designed which makes it very easy to use. The controller is lightweight and simple in its layout so you will find that it adds to your gameplay rather than detracts. I have been impressed with the level of additional control this gives as I have tried it on boxing (where it acts as my left hand) and Harvest Moon (where it controls movement of my character) and found that on both of these games (I have used it on others but give these two as examples) it did add to my gaming experience. If you use the Wii and want the more control and depth to your gameplay then this is one for you to have.
