Advantages: easy to use, realistic feeling

Disadvantages: it slips out of your hand if your not careful

I was given a wii for my birthday, and i have to say i was mightly impressed. I was passed a wii remote, and i have to say i wasnt quite sure how it was going to work, im used to a little joystick or pad, and this felt weird in my hand.

I was told to use the cord to make sure it was securely fasterned to my wrist. I can see why, i started to play a bowling game, and the wii shot out of my hand, luckily i had it strapped to my wrist or it would have gone out the window.

The wii remote is very lightweight and ive only played a few games, but it really does work well. The wii sports, is great example. You can play tennis, baseball, and you hold the wii remote like you would a racket or stick, and swing the same, it vibrates when you hit a good shot, and the movements from your hand are spot on.

I never thought it would feel so realistic, and i have to say i think nintento have done excedingly well here.

The wii remote, is shiny white, so does slip out of your hand abit, you can buy rubber inserts to go round, and protect the wii, and i think this is a good idea, as ive hit a few walls when playing tennis. The only thing that bugs me is that on the front of the remote is a home button, and if you accidently press it while playing tennis say, you get zoomed back to another page. Ive hit this button accidently quite a few times, and lost a game because of it, so maybe something for ninento to think about. The sensors on the top, appear to work well and pick up my movements very precisely.

The wii takes 2 aa batteries, and i use rechargables, as they run down quite quickly.

Overall a great remote, that works and responds well to movement.

Summary: a great remote,
